When discipline goes WAY, WAY, W-A-Y too far here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

A certain first year student of a private business high school from the cooking departments, was made by the chef to perform push-ups repeatedly and squats, as well as carrying the water bottles across the track fields for not performing up to classroom standards, on the 31st of last month, he’d become, unconscious, and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, he was in critical condition, placed in the I.C.U.; the family believed that his condition was caused by improper and harsh discipline by his school instructors, reported the incident to the police yesterday, and sued Huang, the school instructor for damages. The police intend to call Huang in to explain today.

The school explained that Huang is stricter with studdents, made more demands of them, that there were, agreements he’d made with his classes, and Liu was slimly built, that he’d believed he’d not lived up to the demands of the class, that, was why he’d started doing the physical exercises, that the school instructor never asked him to to a certain number of exercises. But the school does believe, that the instructor, Huang was a bit improper, and will handle the matter accordingly after they do their own investigations on the matter.

training to become a chef…

Liu’s family told, that they knew there would be high demands made of the students, but on the first day of class, the instructor, Huang gave out unreasonable orders, like he was, letting the students know that nobody will pass his class without any hard work, that because their son couldn’t finish the actions on time, he was punished to do over sixty push-ups; the second day, he was punished to shell two kilograms worth of red onions, and if he’d missed by one gram, he was punished to squatting jumps or sit ups.

The student, Liu only managed to shell sixty-six grams worth of vegetables, and can only do the squat jumps, and after he couldn’t do the squat jumps, he was told to do the push ups, but he still couldn’t finish, in the end, he’d owed the teacher over a thousand times of exercises; and althouguh the instructor chef allowed him to owe the punishments, but he was told, to peel off an extra 2.5 kilograms worth of shallots, and warned to not be absent the next day.

The family told, that their son was too tired to even move anymore, he’d still bore the pains and headed to school, they’d once reported this to the school, that there shouldn’t be any corporal punishments, but, the school did NOTHING about it.

just because the student FAILED to perform to YOUR standards…

On the 31st of last month, the instructor Huang changed the punishment for Liu, for him to take out a tray with bottled water and walk around the track, after several laps, Liu felt sick, and after he went home, the family took him to a nearby clinic, and he was diagnosed as having rhabdomyolysis, was transferred to a hospital nearby, and, two critical conditions were issued for the adolescent since, and he’s still in the I.C.U. right now for observations.

So, this instructor, DID go overboard with his punishments, I mean, I get that you need discipline and precision to become a chef, but these are only young students in the field, there’s NO need to be so harsh on them, is there? And this instructor DID go overboard with his demands and punishments for the students who failed to live up to what they were supposed to perform too.
