Since the cell phone game app of Pokémon Go became available for download here in Taiwan, everybody here is getting very much into it. Recently, nearly a thousand member of the local populations headed to Beitou Park to catch the Pokémons, and, this rush of crowd had made it to the headlines of Time’s Magazine website as, “Pokémon Go gives us into what the end of days looked like”
people turning into Z-O-M-B-I-E-S here!!!
The economics consultant of the White House showed great worries for the group of seven million population of men from twenty-five to fifty-four who are supposed to be working hard in life but weren’t, all of these individuals had, dropped out of high school earlier on in their lives, with no viable skills, causing them only getting the lowest pays so they’d made their exits from the workforce, became depressed, became drug abusers, committed suicide.
And, because the decline in birth rate in recent years in Taiwan, making it too easy to get admitted into colleges and universities, it’d become, too easy, to get admission into a university or a college, but, if the students tossed away their classes, and became trapped by the computer or cell phone games, it would, greatly reduce the abilities for the future outlook of this next generation of workers.
the stresses that this game causes…
There are an increasing number of people addicted to hi-tech things, but, after all, only the school teachers and/or the family members of those addicts cared, and, other than the occasional outbursts of violence that occurred at the net cafés, it no longer caused media attention anymore.
It’d very addictive, catching the Pokémons, helping those homebound computer geeks to walk out into the world, to be in contact with others, to head to the sites, even, better the relationship between parents and children. And, of these, the most attractive being how little it costs, to get into the game, the added value to this low cost activity that can and will yield great gains.
And now, as this trend of catching the Pokémons is still raging, but, I’m sure, that with the school starting, with the subculture of students, it will be even more popular. Ingress who is responsible for this game had allowed the players to apply for the locations for the Pokémon hunting, so long as the places has “a stable set of pieces of art”; and naturally, the schools becomes, a natural place to collect these Pokémons, and by then, there would be incidences of students skipping their lectures, to go after the Pokémons, with the professors skipping the lessons, to catch the students who were skipping class.
no need for a close caption here…
Although high-tech games like Pokémons Go is free for download, but, it would cost great amount of energies that are not materialistic, the most costly of all would be the youthful years. The problems of the slowing down of economy in Taiwan, if people can stop getting trapped by the smaller blessings of life, and start grasping the concepts that are taught in school that can become a professional technique, this would NOT just be the only way to improve the economy, but also, the surest way to make sure that the growth of people occur in this nation too.
So, this, is from an economics assistant professor, she saw this trend of people getting really into Pokémon Go, and is worried that the people playing might become too into it that they’d let everything else in their lives slide, and this can happen, because it’s an addictive game (not that I’d ever played), but, think about it, this game doesn’t actually make you head out into the outside world, you’re still all, trapped by that small cell phone screen, trying to capture those different Pokémons, and you’re not really interacting with other people who are also, out and about, you’re all just people, seemingly, engaged into a common activity, with actually, NOTHING in common, and, this game will end up, isolating people from one another more and more, that, is my prediction…
