It’s Not that Your Children Don’t Want to Take Responsibilities for Their Own Actions…

The key to training your young to take responsibility, is that the parents can’t LOSE their patience!!!  Translated…

My three-and-a-half year-old went to play at someone’s house, every time he’d done something bad, for instance, scattered the toys all over the places, or broken something that’s not ours, he’d said that he’s done playing and wanted to go home, totally not wanting to take responsibilities for what he did, how can I teach him to take responsibility for his own actions?

When children say that, it’s not because they don’t want to take responsibility, but they’re afraid—afraid of the blames that will be placed upon them immediately.  The adults shouldn’t take lightly, blaming the children for their doing things wrong, children can’t handle the blames or the shames, and so, they can find the quickest “exit strategy”, evasion.  I’m telling you to save some “face” for your young, to prevent your children from feeling embarrassed.  Embarrassment, is a very strong emotion, when the child is stuck in this emotion, where’s the extra energy that s/he can have, to reflect on what s/he had already done?  Lighten up, parents—speak softly to them, with gentle facial expressions, even, add in a little bit of that sense of humor that you have, as the adults start to relax, the children would become more receptive to your words too.

When you see the flaws of those younger children, don’t be too nervous, and just, teach them slowly, so they can improve.  If teaching them once, didn’t work, then, do it again, and again, and again………even IF you don’t think that you have the knack to teach your kids, it’s fine, isn’t it said, that hard work can make up for the lack of smarts?  Most of the cases that failed, it’s usually because the parents gave up first.  So long as the parents don’t give up, then, the children will be able to change their unacceptable behaviors.

So, this, is a lesson for all of you, parents, just BE patient, allow your young to learn what they need to on their own time, but, I’m already running late as is, and, if I’m late again, I will surely, get SACKED, and, if you, STUPID parents “operate” in this “mode”, then, your children will be the ones, bearing the consequences of YOUR bad actions!
