There’s that tall, tall way, I tried to take down, and each and every time I’d broken the bricks down, the wall had, rebuilt itself back up again!
The wall I tried to take down, between us, it’s the only thing that stands between you and I now, and, it’d become, so tall, that I can’t, get past it, and my hands are, scarred, torn, from taking the wall down, brick, by brick, and I’m thinkin’ ‘bout giving up here…
The wall I tried to take down, I did NOT build it up, and yet, I’m left, with this, god DAMN demolishing gig, I didn’t ask for it though! The wall I tried to take down, it just, gets, higher, higher, higher by the day, and, I ain’t gettin’ NO younger here, how am I supposed to, tear this god DAMN wall down by just my lonesome, huh??? This, is a more-than-one-man job…
The wall I tried to take down, I can’t, take it down, because for every brick I’d torn off, three more got added on, and it just feels that I’m stuck, doing this, pointless feat here.
