Her Husband Who Had Cancer Hacked Her, Then, Attempted Suicide, the Wife Said, “I Won’t Sue Him”

Tragedies that stemmed from not having a well-provided for long-term care program, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

A seventy-two year-old elderly man, Wang who was diagnosed with cancer once told his son, “I’m taking your mom with me”, this February, he’d wanted his wife to go out with him, and, he’d stabbed his own wife in the back of the head, but thankfully, neither one of them suffered grave injuries, at the time of the stabbing, his wife cried and hollered out, “I won’t sue him!”, three months after the stabbing incident, Wang died of illness, and the Shihlin District Attorney’s Office dropped all charges.

The elderly couple’s children are all adults, and economically well, the sons told the D.A., and the police, that they’d once heard their father stated, “I’m taking your mom with me”, but didn’t think he was serious about it; and Wang’s wife who was hacked felt clueless, “I didn’t know he was going to attempt to murder me”, but was willing, to forgive her husband who was diagnosed with cancer.

The D.A. investigated, that Wang and his wife, Lin (sixty-seven years old) lived in Sanjr, Hsinbei City, multiple years ago, Wang was diagnosed with cancers in his kidneys, his lungs, plus he also had clinical depression too, became depressed; and his wife’s temperament was completely the opposite from his, very outgoing and sociable.  The neighbors described, that sometimes Wang’s wife nagged him a bit more, he couldn’t take it anymore, and they’d fought a lot.

On the morning of February 23, at around nine, Wang used “let’s go to the hospital to ask for the cancer assistance”, and, as they walked out of the gates of their community, Wang took out the fruit knife and short knife he’d stashed and attempted to murder her, Wang’s wife screamed, “Somebody HELP me!”, a man, Lu, drove past, and got out of his car, and took the knife from Wang, and his wife ran to the temple four hundred meters away to get help, and the workers at the temple saw her covered in blood, they’d notified the police immediately.

As the police came, the elderly man was found, dumbfounded at the scene, he’d admitted to murdering his own wife but claimed, “I’d stabbed myself too”, the police found puncture wounds on his stomach; both were lifted to the hospital, the woman had two stabs on her chest and left shoulder, but, none were lethal, back then, she’d talked on incessantly out of grief, “I will NOT sue him, I will NOT sue him!”.

As the D.A. took the case, Wang the elderly man was already in his terminal stage of cancer, he’d gotten worse, but, “murdering his wife” is considered a crime of domestic violence, he’d not lived with his wife, and, on May 24th, Wang couldn’t overcome his cancer and died, the D.A. based off of the rules of prosecution, dropped the charges.

The neighbors told, that after her husband died, Wang’s wife had walked out of the gloom, and gotten involved actively in the activities of the local communities, no longer lived in the nightmares of getting chased down and stabbed to death by her husband.

So, this, is the selfish act of a man, but because he’d died, nobody WAS held responsible, and this raises an alarm of the care of the ailing elderly population too.
