On the eighth of this month, on Father’s Day, the seventy-eight year-old elderly man, Liu was hacked to death fourteen times on his head, his wife (age 77) who was the only one during the time of his death claimed that a strange man came to rob the house, she ran out, and when she’d come back she’d found her husband murdered.
The police examined the scene of the crime, found there to be no sign of struggle, and that nothing valuable was taken, and Liu’s wife, who claimed to have run outside, had blood spatter on her clothes, and had a cut on her right wrist, plus, two hours after her husband was stabbed, she’d not called the police, and, as her daughter-in-law came home from work and wanted to call the police she got yelled at, and Liu’s wife had washed the murder weapon, and, placed it back into its slot in the kitchen, wiped the blood splatters off, and washed the cloth and hung the towels to dry, and even as the fire department came, she’d told them that he’d not needed any medical help, along with other points of doubt.
The signs showed that the man was, murdered by his own wife, but Liu’s wife was insistent on denying her involvement, the police took into considerations the feelings of the family members, they’d worked the case very lowkey, headed to the home of the deceased every single day to visit, and communicated with the family members, and, the other members of the family also thought, that there may have been more that the elderly woman was letting on.
On the eleventh, Liu, the deceased, after he was autopsied, his body was sent back home for the funeral processions, the police investigated and found that Liu’s wife looked odd, kept ranting to herself by her husband’s coffin, yesterday was the week after the elderly died, after Liu’s wife performed the rituals, after her son’s consoling with her, she’d turned herself in to the police with the company of her own son and daughter-in-law.
Liu told the officers, that after her husband had a sudden stroke at the end of last year, his health deteroriated quickly, first, it was dementia, then, immobility, he couldn’t take care of himself anymore, plud he had gout and kidney stones too, and, from then on, her husband had, begged her to end his life, or for her to beat him to death, so he won’t put strains on his family.
On Father’s Day, there were just the two of them at home, Liu’s wife claimed, that it was because she’d gotten too tired with having to care for him for so long, that she’d lost it, and started hacking at her husband’s head over ten times, causing him to bleed to death; but, the other family members had never heard of how Liu had wanted to die.
The neighbors who knew the elderly couple well said, “I can’t believe the elderly woman is capable of such a thing”, “We’re very surprised, and very regretful too,” “the Lius were a close couple, they’d gone everywhere together, and has a great family too.”
So, this elderly woman murdered her husband out of mercy, because he’d fallen ill and become totally reliant on her, and maybe, the stress of caring for him was just too enormous she couldn’t handle it anymore, that, was why she’d murdered him, out of mercy!
