We’re Getting on Even Better, After My Husband Retired…

Translated…

In his forties, my husband who worked for a foreign investors’ company was laid off; he’d taken his severance pays, took my daughter and I, and we moved to Taichung, set up an English learning academy, but unfortunately, the competitions beaten us out, we were forced, to close down business, and so, my husband was forced into retirement completely.

not my photo…

After he stopped working, my husband didn’t allow himself any spare moments, started taking up painting, photography, reading and writing, and he also, volunteered too, and the rest of the time, he’d spent with my daughter and I.

From before when he’d had a title, although it’d given us a better life in materials, but he’d, busied about every single day, and it was, truly very hard, for us to see him on the weekends too; and now, he’d completed, exited the workforce, we are not sitting on top of a gold mine like we used to, but, we’d started, living this, ordinary, but satisfying life together.  We have money saved up, our group of friends, and each other, life is no problem, and, we’re both, very relaxed, with, nothing that worries us, I believe, that we’d just started, on the best parts of our lives together.

not my list…

After my daughter started her university career in Taipei, there’s just the two of us at home now, and our lives are still, very fulfilling.  During the day, we’d traveled to places together, cooked and ate our three meals together, watched movies, taking strolls, walking the dog, and, we’d fallen asleep, in each other’s arms at night; my world became more fulfilling because of him, and his world, more joyful because of me too.  Even as I headed into the empty nest stage of life, we’d not feel, lonely one bit, we married when we were younger, and now, we’d become, the best of friends, companions, there’s nothing lacking in our lives up to now.

I think, that no matter whether someone retires early or late, so long as you plan out your retirements ahead of times, retirement, is a time, to enjoy a good marriage, and the happiness of life.

So, his retirement became, a new beginning for you both, because you are spending time together, getting to know each other again, and, that made the two of you more connected, and, because you two had, filled your lives up, empty nest won’t be a problem for either one of you.
