Scapegoating, by hacking someone to injury, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Unemployed Chef, Wu Two Days Ago, Injured a Police Officer, Chang with a Knife, the D.A. Asked the Judge to Take Him into Custody, the Judge Set the Bail at $300,000N.T.s, Making the Society Upset; Early Yesterday Morning, the Hsinbei District Attorney’s Office, for the Second Time, Initiated the Investigation, and Used Wu’s Son’s “My Father Often Fell Out of Contact with Us” and “Refusal to Get Taken into Custody”, Along with Other Accusations, Gained the Judge’s Approval of Having Wu Back into Police Custody Again; and, Just Eighteen Hours After Wu Was Out on Bail, He Was, Back in the Cage Again.
The Vicious Chef, at His Bail Hearing, Got Down on His Knees: I Was Wrong
As Wu made bail and left the courthouse, in the wee hours of the night last night, in the faces of the media, the cameras, he’d gotten down on his knees, “I’d done wrong, I’d become, an awful example for the society, I hope that Officer Chang will soon make a full recovery. I’d lost my head, I’m deeply in remorse over what I’d done, I’m truly, sorry!”, Wu explained, “I’d already received twenty tickets this month, and gotten six more, that, was what made me crack!”
The Nephew of the Police Officer Wu Killed Kept Hitting Wu and Asked, “How Can This Sort of a Man be Out on Bail”?
At which time, the nephew of the officer, Lin, who died in the line of duty, Lai came out from the crowd, and, started, beating down on Wu, and was, subdued by his friends, and the police officers who were there, keeping the peace; Lai screamed out, “it’s outrageous, you think you can hack down an officer at random and get away with it?”, and questioned, “What’s wrong with the justice system in Taiwan, allowing this cop killer, to be out on bail?”
Wu immediately left the courthouse, and, the twenty plus officers who gathered in front of the courthouse yelled out, “Officers need dignity”; a patrol officer said, that from before when an officer was run over and needed to get his legs amputated, the man was out on a ten million dollar bail, and this time, the hacking of an officer, the same judge ruled on a $300,000N.T. bail, but someone who’d eaten an endangered species of turtle was, incarcerated, “Aren’t our lives, more important than the sea turtles? Are the police officers’ lives so, worthless?”
The Head of the District Attorneys Criticized, “The Judge Was Emotionally Dead”
The head of the District Attorney’s Offices of Hsinbei City, Cu learned of the bail, yesterday morn, criticized the judge for “not feeling enough, can’t be the pillar of strength for the law enforcement officials, how will you ask the basic level police officers to uphold the laws in the future?”, demanded that the D.A., Lu to start a brand new investigation, and the D.A.’s offices is drafting up the papers against the rulings of the judge.
The district attorneys early yesterday morn, called Wu’s son, his son stated, that his father had been out of a job a little over a month ago, and would often leave the home for days at a time, losing contact with the families; the D.A. believed that Wu was at flight risk, and sent out a warrant, for the police to bring Wu in, but Wu refused to pick up the calls from the police, and locked himself inside his own home for fifty minutes.
With a New Judge, the Tables Turned, “There is, a Need, for Wu to be in Custody”
After the D.A. had convinced the new judge that Wu was at flight risk, and offered evidence thereof, at four in the afternoon, he’d asked for the courts to take Wu into custody; the judge, at six in the evening, believed that Wu was at flight risk, and, in order to make sure he shows up for the trial, mandated him to be taken into custody.
Based off of investigations, Wu had been out of a job for over a month, he’d needed the allowances for living from his own wife; the over $7,000N.T.s’ accumulation of traffic violations, crushed him, that, was why he started raging and hacked the officer. The weapon Wu used was from his chef’s knives, one to chop up the bones, Wu said, “I was overcome with rage, and as I was hacking down the officer, my mind went blank.”
This act of violence was still caused by the accumulation of the duress, the pressures, the stresses he was under, and that last straw was the ticket written by the officer he’d hacked down, and this man had absolutely NO emotional control, and he deserved to be punished, for severely injuring the police officer who was writing him a ticket.
