Viewing Our Selves Through Our Parents’ Eyes

This, is something we all got into the habits of doing, as we’d needed them (our parents???), to give affirmations to our existence…

Viewing our selves through our parents’ eyes, if our parents looked at us, with animosity, because they feel we’d ruined their lives, kept them from chasing their own dreams, because we were born to them, then, chances are, we are prone, to look at ourselves with disgust, because that, is the “message” we received from our parents.

…a young child, reflecting…

Viewing our selves through our parents’ eyes, why do we do that?  Because as we were younger, we’d needed to get the encouragements from our parents, that we’re doing things right, and if we didn’t get that, then, we’re, bound to grow up to seek approval from someone else, our spouses (1 @ a time), girl/boyfriends (1 @ a time still!), as well as our peers, and basically everybody ELSE we may come across in life.

Viewing our selves through our parents’ eyes, we’d relied on you, parents, to love us, to care for us, to treat us right, and yet, you don’t, because your parents never loved you right, and that, is precisely why, this god DAMN vicious cycle had passed to you, from your parents, to us, from you, and, from us, to our own young, and their own young, and the vicious cycle will keep on rolling, for all of eternity!
