The population diagnosed with cancer is on the rise in Taiwan in recent years, and, a lot of the patients lost their hair because of chemotherapy also lost their self-confidence too. The Hsinbei City government called on the public to donate their hair, the youngest, with the longest hair, the seven-year-old, Yu-An Chen, since she was very young, had made up her mind about growing her hair long, to help the cancer patients have wigs, she’d told, that she’d never gotten a hair cut from when she was born, that the 100 centimeter long hair got swiped off by one movement of the scissors, it’s not a bit sad, she’d even smiled and told, that her hair will grow back again, that it would mean more to her, that she’s, able to, help the cancer patients.

The Hsinbei Social Services Department’s donated goods bank yesterday, with the city councilwoman, Hong, called out to the hair donors, a lot of mother-daughter pairs went to the hair salon located in Sanxia to show the support to the cause.
Chen had once seen the children overcome with cancer lost all their hair at the children’s ward in the hospitals, ever since, she’d set up her mind about donating her hair to help others, and so, she’d, grown her hair to almost 38.5 inches. Yesterday, she’d told the hairstylist, “Just leave my hair long enough that I can tie it up in a bun”, and, a lot of the customers and workers at the salon felt, that she had beautiful long hair, that it would be a shame, if she cut it, but she said, with my hair, I can help the cancer patients find their self-confidence as well as bliss back again, “it feels good, to help others out!”

Other than the mother-daughter pair, Chen, there was also, an eight-year-old, Yang, the nine-year-old, Lo, the middle school graduates from Banciao Middle School, Cheng and Wu too, as well as the councilwoman, Hong who’d gotten onboard, donating their hair.
So, this little girl’s love had, touched everybody, and, she didn’t feel the least bit sad about having her hair cut short, because she knows she’s helping someone, with her donated hair, and that, is all that matters to this young girl.
