A vital part of the childhood years, given that the parents make careful selections, and the right kinds of cartoons can be an incentive in your young children’s lives, translated…
As I’d become a mom, I’d gotten a ton of messages on how or how not to raise my young, and, of all of these, there were, a huge number of advices that advised me not to allow my young to watch cartoons. And I want to stress, that cartoons are, a MUST of childhood!
not my picture…
A lot of the wonderful memories, are from watching cartoons. And, I’d always imagined that I was not related by blood to my own parents, that one day, there would be, a black sedan that found its way to the street where I lived, to adopt me away, in my bow and dress. Yes, this was the imagination given to us by “Sweety Girl”, her place in our, young girls’ lives, are irreplaceable. And, other high-tech like “Transformer”, and how “Mulan” had given Madonna her couture inspirations, or the tactic fighting ways of the “Young Heroes of Northern Shores”, showed similarity to the historical soap, or, how the machine I wish I could have, from Doraemon, the door to anywhere, they are all, keys to develop, that active imagination.
And now, let’s come back to current day, in order to allow my four-year-old to have similar wonderful memories as I had, I’d naturally, worked hard, to select the cartoons she can watch. I’m a bit, paranoid, because my daughter, being so young as she, before she could know the wonderful things of this world, I’m not going to, rush into teaching her how to judge right from wrong! And finally, after reviewing over an assortment of available cartoons, I’d found the favorites, “Pink Piggy Girl”, and “The Always Altering Lulu”.
from Public Television…
First, the colors were amazing, from the “Pink Piggy Girl”, the colors are pink, the simple and plain artistries, really easy on the eyes; and, the contents contained the ins and outs of life, the main characters, Pey-Pey and George, no matter what they’d done wrong, their behaviors were all perceived as experimenting, and they never get punished. I think this had, instilled and passed a very important value: in the process of raising your young, experiences are more important than disciplines, and, accepting and loving your young unconditionally will work way better than any kind of reprimand. And, although no matter how much we’d admitted “Piggy Girl” and her family, I’d put my foot down on not letting my daughter roll around in the mud, my daughter questioned me, “why not?”, I’d replied, “because you’re NOT a piggy!”
“The Always Altering Lulu, is a more scientific kind of cartoon, I’d loved that song that she sang, “What’s going on now? What does it mean, I’d never made such an amazing discovery from before! Let’s find more about it! I need to know, how this had, happened!”, the short-ten-minute story had, set up a completely proof, first, discovering of the issues, then, set up a hypothesis, experimenting, then, share the results of one’s own findings. Lulu’s younger brother, and pet mouse, Der are her assistants, and her parents are, the faithful audiences, supported Lulu in her discoveries. I believe, that logic is not a deep or hard thing to instill, but it can be received, from the smaller things in life, like having that keen sense of observation, that curiosity a child holds of the world, asking questions, and, young Lulu had, instilled that in the young children’s minds in her upbeat songs.
here’s the piggy cartoon…
