The woman, Lin who owned the mansion on Ji-Feng Road in Wu-Feng District in Taichung, was cooking yesterday, and she stepped away, and caused a fire, the fire spread from the kitchen on the first floor to the second-floor, Lin’s daughter, her daughter’s child, as well as her grandson didn’t make it out in time, they were taken to the hospitals, and declared dead; the eight-year old daughter of Lin’s daughter had fifty-percent burns on her body, as she leapt from the second floor balcony, her head landed first, she is in life-threatening danger. The D.A. and the police department will examine the body, to get to the cause of death.
The forensics for the fire department went to the scene to investigate, found, that the add-on kitchen on the back side of the first floor suffered the most fire damage, even the air venting system had fallen off, they’d suspected, that that, was where the fire got started; Lin was suspected to be cooking, then, left the kitchen without turning off the stoves, causing the fire; the wooden stairs was right next to the kitchen, and the bedrooms were all separated by wooden panels, causing the fire to spread quickly upward.
The police and fire department investigated, that the owner of the property, Lin has an office to help people select the good days on the first floor, the couple’s eldest son died two years ago, they lived with their daughter-in-law, their six-year-old grandson, and their eldest daughter (age 40) recently took the eight-year-old granddaughter and four-year-old grandson home for the summer vacation.
The fire started at 3:17 in the afternoon, the couple managed to make their ways out from the first floor, the daughte4r and the three young children were, trapped on the second floor, their daughter-in-law was out working, she wasn’t home.
The witness told, that after the house caught fire, they saw two young children out on the lanai of the second floor, hollering out for help, everybody hurried into their separate homes, to get a mattress, but, they couldn’t find one in the pressing of time, and, they’d watched the eight-year-old leap down.
As the firefighters arrived, the girl had already fallen off the building, and was lifted to the hospital immediately, the firefighters went in from two sides, one entered from the first floor, with the hoses, the other entered from the lanai on the second floor, and, they’d found, Lin and a young child on the lanai, then, they’d found another young child in the bedroom, all there were found unconscious, seriously burned, they were rushed to the hospital, but, they’d still, lost their lives.
So now, the elderly of the house will be, guilt ridden, after all, she was the one, leaving the stoves on downstairs, which had, caused this fire in her houses, and, deaths plagued, this household now………
