Kindness in the world, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The retailer of the Taiwanese Lotto shop, Huang is hearing impaired, and, although he’d had hardships in getting educated and getting a job, but he’d held on to that heart of gratitude, to help out the less fortunate, from his community college days, he’d sponsored the children from the Taiwanese Children and Family Funds, he’d continued donating to the cause for thirty years without end.  He’d used his own life experiences, to encourage other who are handicapped like him, that if they’re able, to NOT give up on the opportunities to help others out.

The fifty-five year-old Huang owns a lotto station in Taichung.  Fifteen years ago, through the introductions of a friend, he’d started managing a lotto ticket shop, with more freedom in his work, plus, he’d found the values of the lottery, to fit his own situation, he’d spent more time on helping those in need, to make his life fulfilling from day to day.

When Huang was only four, he had encephalitis, which caused him to suffer hearing damages.  He said, because he couldn’t hear well, he’d been treated unfairly growing up, pushed and bullied by his classmates, became isolated; as he got older and started working, his coworkers wouldn’t tell him that the company was holding a meeting on purpose, it’d made him feel beaten down.

Because of his own personal experiences, he’d shown an interest in the welfare of other handicapped people.  As he was in the community college years, he’d sponsored a child from the Taiwanese Fund for Children and Family with a classmate, after they graduated, his classmate stopped sponsoring, but he’d treated sponsoring those children from the lower end of the socioeconomic statuses as a calling of his own.  he’d worked as a manager of a shoe factory, worked in the food industries, and, no matter how he was doing at work, he’d still kept, send the money in.

After he’d become the owner of a lotto shop, he’d found the values of the Taiwanese lottery to fit his own belief systems, he’d put more into helping out those who are less fortunate than he; other than making consistent donations monthly, every year around the New Year’s, he’d sent the children he was sponsoring red envelopes, and he’d already, accumulate over half a million dollars N.T. in his donations to the causes to date.

The Taiwanese Fund of Children & Family even gave him a certificate of appreciation, thanking and affirming his long-term help to the children from less fortunate backgrounds.

Huang also donated to the Holy Mother Hospital in Taidong too, worked as a patrol guard for his own community, doing what he can, to show care and concerns for others, to help out those who are less fortunate than he.  He said, every time he saw the smiles on the children, he’d felt, “it’s so amazing, to help others”.

So, this man had a difficult childhood that left him deaf, but he’d turned the trials in his own life, into drives to help out those who are less fortunate than he is, and, his kindness is amazing.  He’d put aside the trials of his own life, grew strong from experiencing the trials in his life, and, turned that strength into the driving force to help others.
