The Air, My Friend

The column by Jimi Liao, translated…

A child blows up a bubble

The bubble grew and grew

Then the bubble, flew away gently

The bubble blows on the child

The child grew older and older

Then, he, died

This tragic tale

Hopefully, you’d understood, when you were still a young child

So, this, is somewhat of a philosophical thing, isn’t it???  The bubble that was being blown out by the child, can be interpreted as those dreams, fantasies we’d all had, when we were growing up, and, we all had the chances, to watch those bubbles (dreams) fly off, and take on a life of all their own, because we were once so very young and still able to dream, but, as the bubble blows on the child, the children became an adult, and lose the ability to dream, and then, the child dies, and this just shows, how the world is still slaughtering the innocence of children…
