You abandon your elderly parents, you get F-I-N-E-D, that, is the LESSON here!!! But, the kids DO have valid reasons for NOT caring for their elderly, ailing mother here, from the Newspapers, translated…
An elderly woman in her eighties, Lee has five children, and last April, she was dropped off to a police subprecinct by three of her sons, and, no matter how hard the police tried to get contact with the children, NONE of them came forth to claim their elderly mother, Lee was placed in a nursing home, and in just eight months, she’d passed away, during which time, nobody visited her, and the district attorneys believed, that the first born and second born sons are already no longer obligated to care for their elderly mother, and the eldest daughter didn’t know what was going on, so, the D.A. prosecuted the third and fourth sons on abandonment.
and this, would be what the elderly years look like now…
Lee divorced her husband, Chang earlier on, and, they’d agreed that the eldest and second sons to be raised by her husband, and she took away her three other children to raise on her own; waited until she was in her elderly years, her life had been taken care of by her third son, the daughter and her youngest son lived outside of the district, rarely visited her, nor did they pay her a dime in care or alimony.
The third son, Chang felt it to be unfair, last April, he’d taken his mother up north, and arrived at his eldest brother’s home in Zhonghe, Hsinbei City, planned to leave his mother with his eldest brother, but, he’d rung the door bell, and nobody answered, and so, he’d asked the cab driver to drive his mother to a nearby subprecinct, then, he’d immediately escaped.
After the police found out Lee’s identity, they’d contacted her four sons, but nobody came to pick her up, and so, the police could only take her to a nearby nursing home, and the fees of her stay was put up by the social services department. Until last year before Lee died, the social workers kept trying to make contact with her families, her sons all refused to take her home with them.
this, is how close we were…
The Social Services Department sued the children for abandonment, the eldest and the second born son confirmed, that their mother left them with their father, that she’d never shown any cares or concerns, that the hardships they’d weathered through in their younger years are beyond verbal comprehension, that their mother didn’t even care about them, the courts decided that the two of them were free from taking care of the dying elderly.
The third son claimed to the courts, that it wasn’t because he’d not wanted to care for his own mother, but it’d been him who took care of her long-term, that it was very unfair; the fourth son claimed to be under economic duress, that he couldn’t possibly afford to take care of his own mother; the daughter claimed, that she was never contacted by the social workers, or the police, that she didn’t know her own mother’s living conditions. The D.A. believed that the third and fourth son had broken the laws.
So, that’s another day, at the FAMILY circus!!! An elderly woman was abandoned at old age, and, she died, and now, all of this elderly woman’s children were called onto the stands to testify, and, almost ALL of them had their separate SOB stories, and, the judge believed the words of two, and not the words of the others, and that, was how the punishments and the guilty verdicts got handed down. But, think about it, if you were kind to your own young, then, there surely wouldn’t be ANY reasons that they would want to abandon you at old age, so, it was still the mother who’d done something wrong from when her children were younger, and yet, the children are forced, to pay the price, because the mother had died, is that fair??? Of course N-O-T, but that, is just, how the world works!!!
