The Mouth Painter, Ting-Ting Lin with the Paintbrush in Her Mouth, She’d Set Her Own Soul Free Using the Colors

Despite being handicapped, she is still able, to make such beautiful art, from the Newspapers, translated…

The mouth painter, Ting-Ting Lin got into a car crash sixteen years ago, became paralyzed from the neck down, but she’d never given up on painting, she’d used her mouth, holding the paintbrushes, lay on her back, and made the art, she said, “the injuries had kept my body locked up, but it can’t keep my heart and soul, from running wild and free.”

here’s the woman drawing with her mouth…

Having graduated from the arts department, Ting-Ting Lin had drawn the sketches for the publishing companies, taught children art at the art classes, her dream was to become a professional painter.  Sixteen years ago while she was riding her motorcycle, she was hit by a sedan, sustained a serious neck injury, became paralyzed from the neck down, the colors had, since, gotten taken out of her life.

She lay in the hospital, saw herself, with tubes coming in and out of her body, cried all day long.  One day, she’d heard the story of the mouth-and-foot painter, Kuen-Shan Hsieh who’d lost his left eye, both hands, and used his mouth and feet to draw, the courage was, placed back into her life, “I should not get broken by this tragic accident in my life, I need to, find myself back again.”

Ting-Ting Lin started learning to use her mouth to draw instead of her hands, she’d used her tongue to move the paintbrushes around, with her teeth, adjusted the thickness of the lines that she was drawing, and, because she used her teeth too hard, her teeth became crooked, but she’d still kept at it.  At first, she could still sat up in her wheelchair to paint, but in recent year, her tailbone fracture had caused her great pain, she couldn’t sit for a long time, and can only draw, lying on her back, she’d often dripped paint over her own face, she’d not felt trying one bit.

here is the woman, sitting in her wheelchair…

Ting-Ting Lin said, that sitting up and draw, it’d taken her just four hours’ time, and, drawing on her back would take ten times the time, and more often than not, it would take her an entire week, to finish one piece.  And, when she painted, her neck needed to be pressed, and every day as she finished painting, she’d felt so fatigued, but she’d told, “Art is my favorite thing to do, and no matter how hard, it’s more than worth it.”

She’d drawn out the colorful world she sees in her mind, mouth by mouth, and exercised her active imagination with her paintbrush, and found herself in the world of art, “I will never give up on art, I will never give up on my body”, she’d faced the trials of her life optimistically, and bravely accepted the inconveniences brought on by her body.

one of the colorful painting this woman painted out…

So, you see the strength, the persistence of this young woman, she’s never giving up, her persistence in pursuing her own dreams is amazing, and, she’d been impacted by a huge tragedy in her life, and still, not gotten defeated by it one bit.

    Hi,
I came across with a postcard that’s being selling here in Brazil using this painting from Ting-Ting Lin. I’m wondering if she knows about it and if she’s receiving a cut of each sale. Here you’re the web site: https://www.apbp.com.br/produtos/
