Had this child been “normal”, then, there would be, a TOTALLY different kind of a custody battle here, from the Newspapers, translated…
A man, Lien and his wife, Lee had a daughter who is developmentally delayed, at age four, she’d still had the mind of an infant, Lee’s wife couldn’t handle the stress, moved out, separated from her husband, Lien also filed for divorce, neither parent wanted the custody of this child; the judge took into considerations of how willing they were, and gave the custody of this young girl to her father, and mandated that the mother needed to pay $7,500N.T. per month as child support to her ex-husband.
Lien and Lee were married in 2011, had a daughter together, originally, they were very happy together, but later on, they’d discovered that their child was developmentally delayed, that at the age of four, her physical abilities, her language usage was that of a six-months old baby, and, the family life turned bad.
The judge asked the social workers to investigate, and found, that both parents were the primary caretakers of this child, but the mother showed NO intentions of caring for this child, and the father was, after considering the economics, still willing to care for her, and in the end, the judge gave the custody to the father.
So, because this kid was developmentally delayed, she was, kicked around like a ball, in her parents’ divorce, and had she been born healthy, I’m sure, that the parents would still be fighting just the same, but then, they wouldn’t be fighting for who gets the custody, because they would both want custody of their young, but, this child is developmentally delayed, so, she’d become that ball that got kicked around!
