Gaining the support from his peers, he’d become, brave, translated…
That day, I’d taken part as a member of the audience of the students’ music recitals; the music teacher mandated, that every semester, there would be a music recital, for the arts, and for the grades too. The pieces were chosen by the students, some played the guitar, some the harmonica, some the violin, of course, the students may use the piano in the auditorium too; the point it, every single student must perform on the stage, and if there’s not a musical instrument one is good at, then, the student may choose to sing.
The students put out an assortment of amazing performances, it’d become, enlightening to me. There was a male student who’d sang along as he’d played his guitar, he looked totally different compared to how he was when he was in Chinese class, with that dumbfounded look on his face.
In the applauses, Lin who’s a good student, with good characters came up on stage. He smiled shyly, coughed a bit, then, started singing a cappella.
That, was outside of my expectation, he’d turned the song, “My Country”, into something else entirely different, something, with his own style.
And finally, he’d finished his song, all the other students let out a sigh of relief, and out of friendship, they’d, clapped for him hard.
And maybe, it’s how well he was being received, the applauses lasted over ten seconds, Lin the student, red-faced, turned around to look at the instructor, and said, with embarrassment to the rest of his class, “If you want me to, I’ll, sing another song.”
At which time, every single student there burst out laughing, and they’d applauded him even harder.
I was awing this student’s courage, and I’d fallen in love, with the passions the friendships of this classroom.
You can imagine that the student who sang his song wasn’t really a good singer, but, because of how supportive of him his classmates were after his performance, it’d given him the courage, to sing some more, that, is the support one receives from one’s peers.
