A case where the Double Jeopardy rule didn’t apply!!! From the Newspapers, translated…
A man, Wang had lived in the U.S., seven years ago, as he was riding the bus in New York, he was displeased at how the other passengers told him to be quiet, because he was getting loud, he’d taken out his cooking knife, and stabbed and injured the driver and attendant on the bus, causing them to suffer puncture wounds in their lungs, chest, and back, he’d finished serving a six-year prison term, and was extradited back to Taiwan, and was prosecuted based off of attempted murder charges, the D.A. here said, that the courts can give him a reduced sentence, or sentence him to not serve any time at all here.
The fifty-nine year-old Wang went to the U.S. twenty-six years ago, where he’d worked as a chef for long-term, on one evening in 2009, he was taking a bus in New York, as the bus was parked by the road, he’d started ranting, and was made to stop talking, he was displeased, grabbed a chef’s knife and stabbed the bus attendee twice in the chest, and once more on the back, causing the metro worker to have puncture wounds in his lungs.
After he got off after he’d stabbed the driver, another metro employee stooped him, and he’d used the knife, and, stabbed the employee on the left side of his chest cavities, causing puncture wound on his chest. The driver saw, and immediately flagged down the police officers, and Wang was arrested.
The two bus employees were seriously injured, and were rushed to the hospitals, where their lives were saved. The indictment papers pointed out, that Wang was sentenced to six ye4ars in prison by the Queens County Highest Court in New York, after he’d served his time, he was, extradited immediately, and last February, he was extradited back to Taiwan.
The D.A. here stated, that after our citizens had committed a crime abroad and served the time, as the individuals returned, they are still under investigations from the justice department.
So, because of this man’s own emotional problems, he’d acted up, stabbed someone at random, caused public danger, putting not just him in danger, but all who were around him, and because he had such low emotional control, that, was why he’d hacked someone down at random, and got sentenced abroad, and as he was deported back to Taiwan, he still had to face the trials in Taiwan, because he is a citizen here, who’d committed a crime abroad, and so, he was punished twice.
