Those who’d had dogs all knew4, that most of the strays, in order to protect themselves, wouldn’t attack, but just run off to hide, that, is the safe way; those who’d chased after people, bitten, and are really territorial, are mostly the household pets that weren’t trained well.
People who’d not kept the dogs don’t know, and wouldn’t want to know. That a tourist from outside reported last week, that the dogs at Chih-Jing were biting again, the person who’d called it in didn’t stay on site, wouldn’t identify, or sign to confirm, nobody knew, that the female that was taken into the pound was aggressive, or had been a patsy, nobody cared that she’d already been spayed, that she is a stray that the neighborhood looks after regularly, all it took was a call by someone, then, the life or death of a dog is, decided on.
On the other hand, the Taidong County Council passed the act of “Wild Animals Protections Act”, said, that nobody shall feed the strays, because in the forest parks, there were, incidences of attacks.
Can all who hated the cats and dogs use the cheap labors of the Animal Protections Agencies to “clear off the streets”? Can there not be stray animals in the tourist attraction areas? And, aren’t the animals not kept by humans not allowed in the cities? Can’t the animals not have the freedoms, of NOT belonging to anybody?
Those who’d played and angered the animals so carelessly seemed to have never known, that they were, treating the animals like lower order organisms, like being willing to pat them is very graceful already, and, as the animals tried to dodge from getting patted, they were interpreted as unthankful, aggressive, and humans get mad, and wanted to, teach the animals a lesson immediately, but they’d never thought, that when a pair of strange hands, without clear motives come near, the shocks from the humans are turned into an aggressive hint, and the shocks that we humans feel will turn, instantly, into a message of aggressive in nature, that they’d acted, instinctively, out of protection. But humans can react, not the animals.
Those animals who’d trusted humans looked very cute, but, in the darkness of their minds, I’d hated this sort of a behaviors, for instance, the stray cat, Big Orange who was still alive back then, had never dreamed, that someone who’d gotten close to him was going to murder, torture, break his legs; and the dogs we kept, we’d never let them off the leash to be free, because we don’t know, if right around the turn of the corner, there would be rat poisons by the humans, that there would be some psycho with a club, and will beat on him like crazy, I’d actually hoped and prayed, that all animals shouldn’t trust humans completely, especially the cats, especially, the dogs.
Because whether how much rant it’d caused the community, the case of Big Orange, was dropped by the district attorney, and chose, to have a “simplified decision”, this made us scared, in a case where there are physical evidences and witnesses, of murdering of animals, and although the sixth amendment of the animal protection laws clearly stated, “No one shall malicely, or with no reasons at all, harass, abuse or injure the animals”.
I just wanted to know, are there more cases where humans were hurt by animals, or animals being hurt by humans? If animals deserve to die for hurting humans, then, how about when humans hurt animals? Who will give justice to the animals? Who kept the animals on the streets on edge? Animals in Taiwan should be treated better, because so many of the cruelties, only humans do, only humans can talk, and, they only listen to themselves.
So, from this you can see, how animals lacked the rights? Even as a dog acted aggressive toward people who are running by, but humans don’t know that she was only aggressive, because she’d had a litter of puppies, or how about those other animals who’d been abandoned again and again, the ones that had lost their faith in humans? They can’t just, trust man all of a sudden, after all, we’d, let them down, time, and time again, and yet, we still blame it on the animals, without looking AT ourselves, to see if WE are part of the problems here!!!
