The Trees, Gone. So Were the People, Gone as Well
From a blog in Chinese, translated, by me…
The moment that books were closed, gun shots went off. The trees, gone, so were the people, gone as well. Taking that step into the world in Sisy Chen’s words, hearing her speak of all the things that had happened in all around the world today, also, on the joys and sorrows that had happened, here, in Taiwan too. She’d wanted the younger generations to “Observe how the world changes in just one breath”, she’d also stated, “The enemies of Taiwan are not across the strait, not in Korea, but in our own narrow-mindedness.” “History, is far off, and close by”, she’d told the viewers. On revolution, changing to another flag, that’s the easy part………”
And still, what, of solving the problems?
A young boy, with a rifle on his shoulders, a generation of the lost, in a bad film, trying, to turn their own lives around. And, the passengers, sitting on the highest level of the passing cars just, sighed, as they gazed upon what was going on down below, not enough time, to start crying yet.
The earth rotated around the sun again and again, the guns fired off constantly. That once distant hatred, became, too familiar to us all, in the close vicinities, like they were, implanted, and we just, couldn’t get ourselves away from it all.
Can love be used, to resolve all the unsettlements?
Can the fruits from the roses be enough, to fight off the sharpened edged of the metals?
Opening up that book again, to find the trees, to track down the lost souls.
This, is in light of the massacre that occurred in the States, where there were, many injuries, and many, many more lives that were lost, and, it didn’t go into that we need to find out the causes of these violence, but, that we need to examine our own behaviors, to see if there are things that we can do better in life, to make a difference in the world, to show that little bit more cares and concerns, to someone we may or may not know, to prevent another shooting tragedy………
