A Woman with Mental Retardation Gave Her Grandmother Who Was Immobilized & Couldn’t Talk a Bath, the Water Was Too Hot and the Elderly Couldn’t Talk, and Got Burned to Death

And this is, whose fault again???  I, uh, really, dunno here!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A severely retarded woman, Cheng found her immobilized, unable to speak grandmother had, wetted her pants, as she took her into the bathrooms to get cleaned off, she’d, accidentally turned on the faucet to the heated side, she’d bathed her own grandmother in hot water, and because the grandmother couldn’t speak, causing there to be over twenty-five percent surface area burns on her body, she’d died as she was being rushed to the hospitals.

The officers investigating the case originally thought that Cheng was responsible for the negligent death of her own grandmother, but after the D.A. and the coroner examined the body, they’d believed, that, the burns weren’t the cause of the elderly woman’s death, that Cheng didn’t break any laws, they’d released the body back to the families now.

The D.A. pointed out, that Cheng was profoundly retarded, and couldn’t answer in words clearly as the police inquired, plus the grandmother couldn’t tell the granddaughter that the water was too hot verbally, the cause of death was heart failure, and they couldn’t prove, that the elderly’s heart failure had any direct relations to being burned by the heat, that it’d not constituted as negligent homicide.

The investigations found, that Cheng (age 19), has a handicap manual, couldn’t speak fluently, and can only express herself using singular words normally.  The grandmother was in the father, Cheng’s care, but she fulfilled her filial piety duties toward her grandmother, and would help assist in cleaning up after the grandmother’s fecal matter, as well as urine too, and would help bathe her as well.

On the evening of the 9th, when Cheng arrived home, she saw her grandmother had soiled herself, she’d taken her into the bathrooms, sat her down on the toilet, and was about to bathe her.

As Cheng adjusted the water temperatures, she was suspected of turning on the heat, to hot water complete4ly, then she’d continued bathing her own grandmother for several minutes after that, then, took her grandmother back into her bedroom.

A short while later, after Cheng’s father returned home, he saw her mother shaking hard, wanting to talk but couldn’t, and found that there was, redness on his mother’s face, chest, and both arms, that the skin is falling off, he’d immediately called an ambulance, the doctor examined her, found that there were, over twenty-five percent of her body that had been traumatized by second degree burns, they’d resuscitated her for twelve hours on end, and she still died.

Cheng said, that his daughter had a high fever as a child which caused her to be brain-damaged, that as people are speaking to her, she could comprehend some of it, but not at all at times, she couldn’t read either, but they’re a tightly knit family.  His mother had a heart condition and other ailments, was immobilized, and couldn’t talk either, that she couldn’t feel hot or cold, and couldn’t call out when she’d been burned either.

The D.A. believed, that the deceased had conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, etc., etc., etc., and after being rushed into the hospitals, she’d died of heart failure, the coroners found that the burns on the elderly’s body wasn’t enough to cause her to die, and the family members also believed that this, was a tragic accident, they’d not contested on the cause of death.

So, this, was an accident, that can happen to anybody, but because this woman was mentally incapacitated, she couldn’t judge the situation, which then, led to her own grandmother’s death, because the elderly woman couldn’t call out, and, nobody is to blame here!
