Is Life Set, at the Age of THREE? Lang Hong Says, “Don’t Be Superstitious about ‘Smart’”

The beliefs of an authority figure in education here, from the Newspapers, translated…

Professor of neurology, Lang Hong lectured in Taidong, she’d broken a ton of myths about intelligence and education, and stressed that there’s “no late start at the beginning of the races”, and there’s NO scientific proof that “life is set, at the age of three” either.

How much the parents are involved in the children’s lives IS the determinant of how the offspring will turn out, not how strict or lenient the parents rules were”, Lang Hong used several real-life examples to prove her belief.

A second-year high school student made over $30,000N.T.s from his part-time job and immediately used the money to buy a name-brand bag for his girlfriend, his mother was so angry, she’d dragged him to the police station. This showed the seriousness of the problems in education, “If you want to give allowances to children, then make sure they know how to value their allowances.”

Lang Hong said, the older generations had endured through the tougher times, that if they wanted to have an egg to eat, they’d needed to wait until they were ill, she said now, the protestors would throw the eggs in their gatherings like it was the norm, it would seem to wasteful, and looking at the problems of the leftover school lunches, she believes, the parents, giving their young the right kids of values is more important than grilling their children on making better grades.

She stressed, in order to teach the children, the adults must constantly provide the opportunities for the younger generations to learn. Find an opportunity to sit down and chat. More importantly, the parents must be role models. Based off of her studies in neuroscience, she’d found, that children learn by modeling in their earliest years, and family is, the most important place for this to take place, and parents were, the earliest teachers to the children.

She’d used numerous examples from her own researches to show that there’s no such thing as “losing at the starting point”, said, that life is a MARATHON, running past the finishing lines is what makes you a winner; what the mass population believed that “at age three, life is set”, had been, disproved by the brain’s “experience effect results” studies. The neural network of the brains is very malleable, and experiences are what made us into who we are today. She calls out to the parents, to not be so superstitious over “intelligence”, that only through experiences, would you find meanings to your own lives.”

“the top reason why kids lie is because they don’t want to disappoint the parents”. She’d consoled the parents, “Do give your young the right to make mistakes”, there are no “untrainable” children, only parents who can’t effectively teach their own young. So long as parents feel confident in their children, then, the lessons will be learned more easily.

So, stop pushing your kids to excel, to succeed, to beat the rest of her/his peers in reaching that developmental milestone, because every single kid has her/his own developmental schedules, and life is hard as is already, and you, the parents are, making life even harder for your own young???
