A married office manager from the Department of Labor in Hsinbei City, last week, in the elevators, patted a female subordinate’s buttocks, back then, the assistant director of the Labor Department had just, stepped out of the elevators; although the manager explained, “I didn’t mean anything, patting my employees on their buttocks”, but the Department of Labor, after examining the case, still believed it to be sexual harassment, and gave the manager two reprimands, and demoted him to a non-managerial position.
The spokesperson for the Hsinbei City, Lin stated, that they will improve the morality of the workforce, as well as bring about more awareness of what constitutes as sexual harassment.
The female employee accused, that last week at around six o’clock in the evening on Monday, the assistant director, the department manager and she were riding in the same elevator, the three of them started up a conversation, they were getting along very well, and, as they’d arrived on their floors, she’d stepped outside, to let her superiors get off the elevator; after the assistant director exited, the manager who’d followed closely behind, took the advantage, got closer to her, and, patted her buttocks twice, as he’d made his exit out of the elevator.
“I can’t believe it’d happened to me!”, the female employee cried, the Department of Labor had educated the workers on sexual harassment in the workplace, but she’d never imagined it’d happened to her; she said, from before, the office manager had, put his arms around her shoulders, and patted her shoulders too, after she felt that something wasn’t quite right, every time she’d seen him waving at her, she’d dodged out of sight; in order to prevent the next woman from falling victim, she’d decided to call the cops.

The police investigated, that the process of the manager, patting the female employee on the buttocks was captured on the surveillance in the elevator, and, the manager came to the police, explained on how he was headed to the first floor for some sort of activity, as they’d arrived, the female employee held the elevator open for him, in order to show his gratitude, he’d given her a pat. He said, that normally, he’d been known, to make the huge gestures, that he’d often patted his coworkers at the office, that he’d not meant anything by it, “I’d already forgotten where I’d patted her on”.
The Department of Labor stated, that after their investigations, they’d already, transferred the manager away, that in the future, he will not be anywhere NEAR the female coworker he’d sexually harassed.
And so, the punishment was still NOT severe enough if you ask me, and apparently, this, had happened, MORE than once, and this woman had finally HAD it, and that, was why she’d reported him to her superior, and yet, it still won’t be enough, to prevent this LOSER, from being inappropriate with his next victim, because he’d only received that slap on the wrist…
