They Became “Family” at the Ren-Ai Home, His “Godmother” Made Him a Better Man

This signifies the importance of having that mandatory stability in the childhood years, and it also showed the dedication and the love this woman has, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

Nine years ago, a foundation donated books, to the Ren-Ai Home in Nantou, the founder, Lee suggested that the foundation should build a castle of hope for the children, yesterday, on Mother’s Day, was the grand opening of the building, the nineteen-year-old who was once there in the home, Gu, especially made his way to the Ren-Ai Home, to personally wish his godmother, Jia-Rong Lee, the founder of the Loving Community, a “happy Mother’s Day”.

the picture of the woman with her godson…

At age four, Gu and his older siblings were left in the Ren-Ai Orphanage, and became connected with Lee, who’d often delivered the love to Ren-Ai Home back then, as he’d gone to high school in Taipei, he’d moved in to Lee’s home, and started calling her “Mom”.

Lee said, that nine years ago, she’d gone with the organization to deliver the donated books to the Ren-Ai Orphanage, she’d found this group of children to be filled with optimism and confidence, that the environment they were born into made them independent and strong, it’d moved her very much, and at the same time, she was, torn, by their situations.

She said, that when Gu just arrived in Taipei, he’d constantly missed all of his younger siblings, as well as the teachers who took care of him at the Ren-Ai Orphanage, which showed how connected the children are to this home of theirs.

Gu said, that he was very grateful toward his godmother, for loving and tolerating him beyond their connections, giving him a chance, to be a better person.

The Ren-Ai Orphanage opened in 1965, at the homeless shelter of Nantou, it was the very first place set up to take in children as well as teens, it’d taken in children from birth to eighteen, who’d lost their parents, were born in awful families, or those children who needed to be taken out from their homes emergently.

The mayor of Nantou Lin had helped in the fundraisers, and the new space has an extra sixty-three beds set up, currently, it’s taking in over eighty children and adolescents who live out of district, so they can go home to visit at anytime.

And, this, would be the dedication of this woman that’s made such a huge difference for this young man, and, setting up of this home for children is very important, because those children from awful backgrounds that needed placing may not have a fitting place to live in, and sometimes, the orphanages became, the best choice for them, if the staff are caring and loving, then, the children who were raised in these orphanages would still have a chance, of developing correctly.
