A middle school aged girl in Taoyuan, in order to help her boyfriend pay up his debts, she’d borrowed money from a man, Chang, but instead, Chang took her hostage and raped her, kept her for forty-eight hours in lock-up. She’d asked for help from Facebook when she’d gotten the chance too, but she was treated like the boy who cried wolf, and so, the online community had, ignored her. Although Chang stated that the sex was consensual, but the Highest Courts in Taiwan didn’t believe him, and sentenced Chang to five years in prison based off of rape against underage minors, and Chang can appeal for a lighter sentence.
The verdict stated, that the female student met Chang online in June of 2013, in order to help pay off her boyfriend’s debts, she’d asked for a loan from Chang, and signed the checks. A month later, she’d asked Chang to take her in which he had, and, she was caught, stealing $5,000N.T. from him, Chang tied her wrists up, then, raped her, and she was forced by Chang to strip nude to stay inside the bedroom, to not leave.
The female student waited until Chang was fast asleep, used Chang’s Facebook account, called out for help to her older cousin; her older cousin had suspected that she was lying, and called her the “boy who cried wolf”, that when something did happen, nobody will, believe her”.
The female student begged on, “I won’t do it again, I swear, this world is too awful”, and her cousin was softened, “if I help you out, you won’t be lying to your family anymore, and you won’t cause them any more worries.”, the female student wrote, “Family is the best, I won’t do it again, I swear!”; and that, was when her older cousin told her parents, and called the police; the female student was abducted for forty-eight hours, then, rescued.
Chang denied the allegations of rape, said that he’d gotten the consensus from her, that because she’d stolen money from him, that, was why he’d tied her up, but he’d untied her two, three hours later, that he’d not taken her hostage, nor did he force her to strip.
The courts investigated, that from the time when the female student reported the incident, to the time when the court was in session, her story didn’t change a bit, and as the girl texted her older cousin for help, she was suspected of lying, and she’d still kept on begging for help, which showed, that the female student wasn’t making any of this up. Plus, the female student had gone to Chang’s place willingly, there was no reason she would set Chang up, and, as the police arrived on to the scene, they saw the markings on the girl’s wrists, that it didn’t look like she’d just been tied up for two, three hours at all.
So, this young woman had finally learned HER lesson, and, it was too late, she’d already lost, and this young woman still did what she did, for the sake of love, she wanted to help pay up her boyfriend’s debts, and this boyfriend of hers, isn’t even worth it.
