The High-Tech Gadgets Made Their Ways into the Tribes, the Children’s Eyes are No Longer Sharp Like the Hawks’ Anymore

And this, as you may have imagined, is one of the “side-effects” of high-tech on the lives of children, from the Newspapers, translated…

Of the Namah Tribe’s 180 School Children, over forty had serious cases of astigmatism, which are suspected to be caused by overuse of their eyes, and malnutrition.

The tribal children grew up in the forests, and in the earlier years, you’d not seen any child in glasses. But, the Blindness Prevention of Taiwan recently gone to survey the Mashah tribe’s people, to offer them the services of getting glasses for them, and they’d found, that almost forty-percent of the children there came to get the glasses. But how? The answer, “CELL PHONES!”

and this, is how bad it’s getting…

The Ages are Centered Around Children in the Third & Fourth Grade

There are no ophthalmologists’ office in the Mashah Mountain regions of Kaohsiung. The Native Women’s Foundation fought for the “Blindness Prevention Organizations’” goals of providing glasses for the tribespeople. The doctor who offered her services free, Tseng said, that as she’d scanned the clients, she’d found, that there were children with high degrees of astigmatism, and the ages were around third to fourth grade, and she suspected that it’s caused by overuse of high-tech products, or not having enough resources in the home, being malnourished. Currently, the Namahsha Elementary School had 180 students, and, there were about a-quarter of the children who came to get their glasses, it’s a really high percentage.

The Cross-Generation Childrearing, the Parents Used the Cell Phones to Overcompensate for Not Spending Enough Time with Their Own Young

“There’s an influx of these high-tech products”, the manager of the foundation, Istanda Ybu sighed, as children got their hands on the cell phones, they’d started, sliding on it; the executive officer, Abu said, a lot of the parents were busy at work, and had used the cell phones as the nannies. And there were parents who’d gone off to work to provide for the families, that left their young with their own parents, and because the parents felt that they’d not been there for their own children, the parents bought the cell phones as gifts, to compensate for not being there, and as the children received these gifts, they’d logged on for long hours, playing the online games, or downloaded YouTube to learn the newest moves in songs and dance.

No Matter How Restrictive the Schools Were, They Can’t Manage to Keep an Eye When the Kids are at Home

“From before, we’d had the televisions to help look after our young, and now, we’d asked the cell phones to,” the Principal for the Namasha Mingchuan Elementary School stated, that he’d once seen a mother just tossed the cell phones to an infant as a toy, and now, in the tribes, everybody has a cell phone on hand, the school reminded the parents, to keep an eye on for the children’s sight problems, and would lead the kids along, in doing the relaxation exercises for their eyes, but, as the children returned home, they don’t necessarily do what the school had taught them to.

The Kaohsiung’s City Department of Education analyzed, that in the past three years, the increase in middle school and elementary school aged children with eye problems can be attributed to reading books too close to the pages, playing on the computers, or video games, the overusing of the eyes, plus the smartphones are becoming more and more common, in the dimly lit environment, lowering the heads constantly, they’re all, prime contributors to the worsening of eye sight. The parents should help the children set up better habits in using their eyes, so they can hopefully, delay the onset of having serious eye conditions.

doesn’t look good, does it…

And so, because of the prevalence of these high-tech gadgets, and sure, they’d brought a ton of convenience to us all, but, at the same time, we are, ruining our eye sights, especially as the parents are getting to working a lot, leaving their young unattended, and NOT under strict enough adult supervision, that, is why the kids can get drawn into the world of computers, smart phones, as well as other high-tech gadgets, and, in the end, they’ll surely, ruin their eye sights.

the results of all of this would be…
