The Importance of Keeping the Employees Happy

The observations, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

In an essay, Murakami mentioned a story of how a worker of a hotel made deliveries of goldfish into the hotel rooms. “This sort of creative, yet, unintentional service can accidentally, leave, a lasting imprint”. Murakami wrote. Although he couldn’t recall the name of the hotel he’d stayed at, but, if you are like me, love the Kimpton Hotel chains, you would know, that this particular hotel belonged to the Kimpton Hotel chains. As one checks in to the Kimpton Hotels, from time to time, the room service would put a gold fish in the room, or as you were, checking in and inquired about it at the counters, the room service would bring a goldfish by.

not my chart…

And, the goldfish is just one of many reasons that made this hotel chain so popular, on top of that, they are very tentative to offering the services to the guests who stayed there, every evening, there would be free servings of wines before supper, and the hotel chain pays special attention to the environment too. And, they’d not only allowed the guests to bring their own pets in to stay, they would also, help prepare the foods and water for the animals too. And, they’re even kinder toward their frequent guests, they would usually give the frequent guests bigger suites, the snacks and wines prepared by the chef, along with the check-in counter managers’ handwritten cards.

Although the hotel group isn’t operating on a larger scale, but, there are, a lot of people who loved them.

And, based off of Forbes’ Magazine, the Kimpton Hotels had stayed on the top of the list of the best employers, they’d ranked at the eleventh place of ALL the corporations too last year.

Based off of Forbes’ descriptions, Kimpton took extra care of their employees, other than the rare nursery care and long-term care programs, it’d also included, the health insurances for pets too, and even when the pets died, the owners can take days off, to grieve, and when the workers bumped into guests who’d gone to the hotel to stay with their pets, they’d, naturally, use empathy, and give the guests and their pets, the care and services that they were in need of.

Hotel had never been a high-paying job, the hours are long, considered as, a very grueling industry, and, this group’s special care towards its employees, provided them with, a lot of the qualities that their competitors lacked. Two years ago, the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts used a high amount, to buy out the Kimpton Hotel Chains, but to this day, the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts still allowed Kimpton to operate independently, because they’d not wanted this special brand, to vanish.

not my picture still…

Now, take a look at Taiwan, the corporations that are demanding the saving on every single possible aspect you can find, aren’t they forgetting, that happy employees are able to, provide the best kinds of services to the customers?

This, would be a comparison of a foreign industry, with how the majority of businesses are run over here, here, it’s the long work hours, based off of the obligations of the workload, you don’t finish, you stay at the office until you do, and you don’t get paid overtime, unlike how these foreign corporations that understood, that happy employees make happy customers, and, that, is something, that the enterprises, the corporations here in Taiwan, can learn from.
