Making memories of us here, from the Newspapers, translated…
A father from Hong Kong, Wong last year, took his three-year-old daughter, on an eleven-day cycling trip around the island of Taiwan, and after the UDN papers did a report on it, the movie star, Aaron Kwok, made his trip into a short feature, it’d become a trend, for the parents in Hong Kong, making memories with their own young children too; yesterday, Wong took his second son here again, to circle around the island by bicycle, the Hong Kong television station, TVB crew was with them, to film this special occasion.
Wong set out from Guandu yesterday, and, placed the brand new helmet he’d bought here on his last day onto his son, “Yi”, he said, that this adventure that they’re sharing is not a trip, but his attempt to find back the father-son relationship through accompaniment, to find back the family that’s lost, “So we can share these moments of closeness as a family, to learn to be together.”
Wong liked the kindness of the people in Taiwan, last May, he’d taken his older daughter, “Yueh”, to cycle around the island, the very first time, the father and daughter pair had, spent eleven whole days together, there were the hardships on their journeys together, as well as the moving moments too, the UDN Papers did a specialty report on them, it’d gotten the press media in Hong Kong to tune in too, and the movie star, Aaron Kwok had even, turned their story into a short feature, and a lot of the parents in Hong Kong started, planning on, making the special memories with their own young too.
and, here is the pair…

Two days ago, Huang and his son, “Yi’s” journey around the island, with the editor from TVB News station, Le stated, “a lot of my friends are taken, by the grades, the myths of getting into good schools, they’d not even known what their own children wanted, what, the children are seeking”, Jeng-Chang Huang and his daughter’s story had, given the people of Hong Kong a different outlook on life.
Le stated, that the third and sixth grade in the elementary school years the students were made to take the TSA, a national exam of skills, including the subjects of math, English, and Chinese, the school and the families had, manipulated the schools into “Star” schools, and the outlook for good scholastic performances, causing the structures of education in Hong Kong to get distorted.
She’d pointed out, that more and more parents were influenced by Wong, started taking their own young to cycling trips, hiking journeys, hoping, that through accompanying one another, they will “learn to get along with each other”, “learn to be with each other”; the television station in Hong Kong, TVB hoped that they could, replicate the experiences of Huang and his children, to turn over, to help the adults, rethink the purpose of education in the current state.
So, this father had, started a revolution of sorts, and his thoughts were just to help his kids make special memories of them spending time together, such, a simple thought, and yet, how many of you, parents, are really, taking the time, to figure out what your kids are needing from you? Not very many still, which, is exactly why THIS man’s story is so widely received right now, because he’d helped the parents in Hong Kong, reset their values, reprioritize their priorities.
