The City of Hsinbei Trains the Stray Dogs…to Becoming Reading Companions for Children, and to Accompany the Elderly Who are Ill

The Hsinbei City’s Animal Protections Department manager, Chen stated, that after the ZERO kill policy, the city had gotten active in putting forth the runway programs for dogs, hosting the parties, so the local people have more opportunities to get involved, to get to adopt the stray dogs, and, the city had also, put forth the “occupational training” programs for the stray dogs too.

The Animal Protections Agency picked out stable and personable dogs to train, making them into “school dogs”, “accompany dogs”, “medical service dogs”, along with an assortments of occupations. For instance, the Vincent Elementary School’s school dog, “V Junior” managed to get the kids who didn’t like school to come into school to learn, “Personable”, the study buddy at Hsiu-Shan Elementary School became a model for the kids in art class.

There were also, eight other medical companionship dogs who’d gone into the nursing homes to spend time with the elderly, and, the simple game of “fetch” can help the elders work out their arms and legs, to help them maintain their basic physical capabilities.

And so, this, is a GREAT program that the city government is putting forth, they’d given these stray dogs a skill, so they have a better chance of being adopted out, and, at the same time, after being trained, these stray dogs became companions that help people in their everyday living too.
