Seventeen years ago, the pregnant woman, Chuang went to the malls in Taichung to shop, unfortunately, there was a robbery going on, she was grazed by a bullet that ricocheted, and became a vegetable. Her fetus of just five-months old, a day after being delivered, died too. Chuang’s mother, Hsiung took her daughter home and looked after her with care, and she’d done this every single day since, she received the award for being the kindest mother this year.

Although the events happened many years ago, as Hsiung talked about how her daughter was shopping, and was hit by a flyby bullet, she’d still felt saddened over the facts. Hsiung said, that her daughter was just married for two months, when she’d become a vegetable, she’d considered that she worked from home, that she would have more time to look after her, and decided to take her daughter home to look after.
For seventeen years, the moment that the petite Hsiung wakes up, she’d turned her daughter over, massaged her, and fed her, she feared that her daughter would feel lonely, so, she’d pulled on her daughter’s hand every single day and talked to her.
In the time when Chuang was bedridden, she’d never gotten one single bedsores. Four years ago, she’d sent her own daughter into a long-term care facility, but, six months there, she’d found, that her daughter’s immune system was weakened, she’d gotten sick a lot, and, she’d had bedsores, and had fevers, she’d decided to take her daughter home again to look after.
“As Jia-Huei heard the radio broadcasts, she would smile,” Hsiung would put the radio on for her daughter, and sometimes, something funny was said, and her daughter would laugh aloud, as she saw how her daughter was responding to the radio programs, she’d felt warm on the inside too.
Toward receiving the award, Hsiung said, as a mother, taking care of her ill daughter is very normal, that she’d only, “done her responsibilities as a mother”, that she’s not extraordinarily amazing. At age sixty-three, she said, that Jia-Huei’s younger brother and sister are married, that the only ones who can care for her were her and her husband, and she and her husband will get older, and she’d not thought too much on the future, she can only, live a day at a time, work hard, to take care of her own daughter.

From this you can see, a mother’s love, and, this mother took care of her bedridden daughter with a ton of dedication, and she’s now, being recognized for how amazing her love for her child was.
