What, are the events, leading up to this female army officer’s suicide, what might have been the cause? Let’s see, shall we? From the Front Page Sections, translated…
The female lieutenant, Wu, from the Lingyuan Marines 99th Squadron, yesterday afternoon, was found by her fellow service mates, to have hung herself and died, there wasn’t a note. The Kaohsiung District Attorney’s Office told, that the case occurred on an army base, and they will be investigating the matter like it was, a major crime, Wu had NO visible external injuries, and the detectives had, ruled out external forces as cause of her death for now; the marines said, that they will comply to ALL the measures of the investigation, and help the female officer’s family with the funeral arrangements.
The Marine’s commanding center said, that the thirty-five year-old Wu graduated from the officer’s class in 2014, last year, she was transferred to the 99th to work as a platoon leader, and she’s currently working as the assistant commander. That the 99th is currently receiving instructions from high up, and Wu may have let her strong sense of responsibility, her discipline, her perfectionism, along with the compounding pressures gotten to her, but the real reason behind her suicide is still pending investigation.
The D.A. found, that yesterday afternoon, Wu was still eating like there was nothing wrong at the army base, that as the separate teams gone on their separate duties in the afternoon, Wu didn’t show up, the people she’d served with thought that she had returned to her quarter to catch up on some paperwork, as they’d entered into their shared quarter, they saw Wu had, hung herself. The female corporal immediately rushed to get help.

Wu’s father, younger sister, and her boyfriend were notified and rushed to the hospital, they couldn’t understand, why she’d committed suicide. The army base, the D.A.’s office reviewed over the surveillance footage, and found, that after Wu returned to her quarters after lunch, and to the time when her service mates found her, there was, no one else who’d entered into her room.
Wu’s superior told, that Wu’s boyfriend works for a private enterprise, that based off of what he’d understood, they’re getting along very well; Wu had performed outstandingly in the force, and even the platoon leader of her platoon who was just transferred to the unit commanded on how she was the platoon’s pillar of strength.
And so, there’s no way of really knowing WHAT was going through this female army officer’s head, as she’d made her decision to END her own life, and, because she’d served in the army, maybe, there’d been too much pressure, or there may have been other causes that were, giving her too much stress and she just, couldn’t take it anymore, and so, she’d ended her own life.
