A Diet that Turned Her into Bulimic, the Fourteen-Year-Old Jun Starved Herself to Only 46.2 Pounds

The causes would be a combination of a DISTORTED self-image, and the desire, to look like those skins-and-bones runway models, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The fourteen-year-old Jun was made fun of for being too chubby, she’d wanted to become a runway model and started dieting intentionally, and her dieting turned into anorexia nervosa, in just these six months, her weight had gone from seventy pound, to just 46.2 pounds, became thin as a sheet of paper, as she was carried by her own father to the hospitals for treatment, she was already suffering heart failure, after two weeks’ hospitalization and force-feeding, along with other treatment measures such as medication and therapy, her weight got back to sixty-six pounds now.

The child psychiatrist from Chinese Pharmacological University, Wang said, some of the teenagers would use the belief that if they’d become skins-and-bones, that’s what makes them beautiful, and, this sort of a wrong belief system had caused the age of developing an eating disorder drop to younger and younger. She’d observed, that the hospital takes in about ten people with eating disorders per year, most were in the high school years, but in the past three years, there were, more than half of those admitted for treatment being middle school students, and, starting in their elementary school years, they’d started, exerting the signs of developing an eating disorder.

Wang said, that the ratio of female to male developing an eating disorder as teenagers are ten to one, and, a-tenth to a-seventieth percent of the teenage population showed signs. There’s a high fatality rate for these eating disorders, being long-term malnourished causes electrolyte imbalance, not only would the growth be stunted, there would also be hormonal imbalances, and even, leading up to heart diseases, causing death.

Because when Jun was just ten-years-old, she was made fun of for her baby fat, she’d started, restricting her own diet, and wanted to become a supermodel, she’d originally just wanted to lose a little over ten pounds, and, she’d only consumed cold and vegetarian items, and only ate the brown rice, or multi-grains as her starch; she is a very slow eater, it would take her a total of TWO hours to finish an apple, and, after she’d consumed her meals, she would immediately get up and walk for half-an-hour to help her “digestion”.

this would be, what ANOREXICS would have to deal with daily…

Since Jun was twelve years old, she’d stopped growing in height, stay stagnant at 4’5, and she’d not had her period of months on end, in recent six months, her weight dropped, drastically from the sixties, to the forties, she’d now, not have the energies to walk anymore.

Wang said, that the core problems is reliant on the individuals’ defining their own values based off of how much they weighed, and, jokes from other people, can also, exacerbate the condition, other than Jun who’d tried to diet too hard to reduce weight, there are also patients who would binge and start puking or taking laxatives.

and, here’s the bulimics…

not my photograph…

She’d pointed out, that in order, to treat people with eating disorders, and help them slowly, regain their weight to acceptable, in the process of being treated, the family members must consistently and gently accompany their children, to make sure, that their children keep a disciplined and enough food intake and eating habits.

And so, this, is still ALL due to the outside feedback, of what BEAUTY is, and because all those runway models is what those young girls wanted to become, and so, there would be, more who will be diagnosed with eating disorders in current world right now.
