“Turn Down the Buddhist Verses”, the Female Monk Hacked Her Neighbor with a Steel Saw

A dispute between the neighbors that ended in bloodshed, from the Newspapers, translated…

The sixty-five year-old female monk last month got nagged by her neighbor, Lee, “Stop playing your Buddhist verses so loudly”, she was suspected of chasing him and hacking him down with a steel saw, causing blood spatter from Lee’s head, and there was a five-centimeter laceration on Lee’s wrist that damaged his muscle tissues and nerves too. As the female monk had her day in court, she’d started crying on the stand, claimed self-defense, the Hsinbei District Attorney’s Office prosecuted her based off of attempted murder charges yesterday.

Based off of understanding, Chen lives in Banciao, practiced Buddhism at home, shaved her head, wore the monk’s outfits everywhere she’d gone, but for a long time, she’d had this tense relationship with the neighbors, and had multipled times, gone to the police to report on how the neighbors had affected her practice of Buddhism and had wanted to harm her, but the neighbors accused her of playing the recorded verses late in the night, or setting firecrackers on fire in the middle of the nights.

On the fourth of March in the afternoons, Chen used a steel saw, and hacked her fifty-year-old male neighbor, Lee in the broad day light, was subdued by the police and arrested, and was booked on attempted murder charges. Lee accused, that as he was arriving home, he’d bumped into Chen, reminded her, “Don’t play the tapes so loud”, then, she’d shouted back, “I’m going to kill you!”, and took out a steel saw from her bags and started hacking at him.

As the female monk appeared in court, she’d denied having used threatening words like “I’m going to kill you”, stressed how she was a follower of Buddhism, that she’d not said something so rash, and cried on how Lee was advancing toward her, that he was, cussing her out, and there was, a group of onlookers gaining up on her, that she was afraid, that, was why she’d taken the “red board” off of the mailboxes, to protect herself, but she’d not paid attention, that she had a steel saw in her hand, and in the end, it was Lee, who attempted to get the saw from her, that, was how she’d accidentally injured him.

The police reviewed the surveillance footages to understand exactly what had happened that day, they’d found, that Chen was carrying the saw, and walked toward Lee and started swinging the saw at him, that there was no crowd gathering around at all, that Chen was lying about the events of that day. The D.A. believed, that the head is the most vital area of the human body, that if the head is punctured, then, the victim would be in life-threatening danger, and so, they’re prosecuting the case, in accordance with the law. Chen had been taken into custody.

So, this shows, how even IF you are practicing religious rituals, you should make sure, that it doesn’t bother anybody else, your other family members, your neighbors, etc., etc., etc., and I can only imagine that the man had been putting up with this female monk’s Buddhist rituals for a long time, and, he’d given her a “warning”, which this woman took to be offensive, and, she’d attempted to take revenge toward this man, who’d asked her to keep it down, and that still just shows, that ANYBODY can and WILL crack, even IF you’re a practicing believer or a certain religion.
