Bringing the innovations in teaching into the classroom here, from the Newspapers, translated…

The founder of turning over the education in the classroom setting, Jonathan Bergmann entered into the distant areas in Taiwan, visiting and seeing how the teachers in the classrooms in Taiwan are working hard, to turn education around. After he’d watched the classroom sessions, Bergmann suggested the school, that the teaching video footages should be different from filming of videos for entertainment, that in order to get the students more involved in the processes, the teachers can become the key actors and actresses of the videos, and can also, spend the time, viewing the videos with the class too.

flipping the classrooms over…

Nan-Rong Middle School is the only school that passed the Massive Open Online Courses, the newest plan of education that incorporated the technologies into the learning environment, which stressed the importance of self-motivated learning methods, the students viewed the ten-minute short footage, to first, get a hang on the subjects then, they are to, engage into discussions on the lessons they’d just viewed with the other students in their classes. Currently, this method had been implanted in the English, the mathematics, as well as the sciences courses.

The English instructor, Chiu used the mobile downloads, designed the quiz questions, separated her students into smaller groups, and had the groups competed for points in the classroom sessions, not only was the instructor able to catch the questions that the students couldn’t answer, she was also able to tell, which student didn’t get which questions right away too, and in the end, the instructor tallied up the total scores based off of how fast the students came up with the answers, and how many each group answered correctly, and the classroom sessions became fun like a gameshow, the English instructor was able to, successfully, capture the interest and attention of the students, to teach them the lessons.

The math instructor, Chiang said, that every student has a different level of understanding toward math, it would be very difficult, to focus on what each and every student needs to work on, but, the “Grinding Sessions for the Teachers” platform had recordings of short videos on the lessons, after the students finished watching, they are able to get a quiz on the lesson they’d just viewed, it would be, extremely easy, for the students to review what they’d just learned, and they can use the short films to preview the lessons they’re going to learn too.

“The core of turning education around is on how to get through to the students”, Bergmann stated, he hoped, that there would not be an overuse of high-tech gadgets, the systems of operation, the techniques which were used, to instruct the students, they all came second, the most important part of the learning process is still in interacting with others, sharing what was learned by the students with one another.

And so, this man successfully, introduced computer technologies into the classroom settings for primary and secondary education, and yet, he stressed about how the computer technologies are there, to be “assistants” to the learning process, and, his methods are proven to work, because in using his methods, the instructors are able to, make learning more fun, getting everybody in the classroom participating as the lesson goes on…
