The Online Generation are used to interacting with one another online, and when meeting face-to-face, they tend to get nervous, couldn’t express themselves properly, causing them to have awful interviews.

Because the messages from online, the jobseekers developed the prejudices of “I can blow things off on the job and still do well in it”, they’d not buckled down in writing their résumés.
The statistical measures done by the legislature last year found, that the primary unemployed age group was for thirty and under, taking up 22.9 percent, and, of this group, the highest unemployment rate is from ages twenty to twenty-four, rising up to 12.59 percent.
The primary statistics department also found, that the unemployment rate for the age group of 20 to 24 had been over ten percent in past couple of decades, and that it’d taken the people in this age group six months to find a job again on average.
The manager of the employment agency in Taichung, Huang pointed out, that the online world had caused the younger generations to stray farther and farther away from the society, from two specifics observed from how this age group had hunted for a job, one can see this trend. One, the younger generations are used to interacting with people online, and so, when they’re face to face with an interviewer, they had the tendencies to become more nervous than usual, couldn’t express themselves well, causing them to perform badly on their job interviews.
not my picture…
And, because of the information from online, these members of the younger generations developed the beliefs of, “anybody can do this job” or “this job only required me to show up, and nothing much more”, and so, they’d not work hard, on dressing up their résumés, and some of their vitas and résumés only had three lines total, and, on their interviews, they’re usually not articulate enough, and blowing off a job interview is also, a very frequent thing for them.
A newly graduated person from university sent in his résumé for a job as a security guard, on his résumés, he’d put, “Hi, I am so-and-so, I am twenty-three years old right now, going to the Chinese department of XX University, I’d thought, that it would be AWSOM to work as a security guard, and I’d hoped, to be trained by your company, to become a member of your company, to work alongside the team!”, the owner of this security guard agency said, this applicant didn’t specify what he’s good at, and only had a little over sixty Chinese characters to his résumé, and there were, misspelled words on it too, “don’t know how I can possibly hire someone like him?”
But, there are also members of the younger generations that kept seeking out knowledge outside of their studies, and they’d gained the work experiences from the major companies, and so, they’re without worries of finding a job after graduation, because a job had already been, offered to them, and there are those youths who’d taken up technical courses while they were in school, started interning at major companies while they were still undergraduates, and so, they have NO worries of finding a first job after they’re out of school.
And so, you see these two POLARIZED types of people, one, had NO clue of how to apply for a job, how to answer the interview questions, and the other, well-prepared, and had gone through the work-internship program while s/he is still studying in college, and, who would you prefer to hire in this case? And so, if you’re like the first case, then, there is something to be done, you can still work hard, to acquire the knowledge, NOT just in school, but in OTHER aspects of your lives, so, that door will open up for you after you’re out of school too. It’s not too late, if you work hard at it!!!
