It’s about time, as these past couple of days, there were just, NOTHING but BAD news on the papers here, translated…
On the eve of Children’s Day, the children from Taiwan managed to round up the love, and sent it over to Africa. Seven hundred children from the Lingyuan Elementary School in Kaohsiung took along the dresses they’d made yesterday, and filled up the world “LOVE” on the field, the children managed to sew the dolls onto the little dresses together, they’d wanted to give the children in Africa some of the love they have to spare.
the picture of the children in the elementary school, spelling the word: LOVE…
The American’s “Little Dresses for Africa” Foundation recently set up organized activities to send the clothes to Kenya, Rwanda, and Ghana in Africa. Six months ago, the students in Lingyuan Elementary School called out to the seven hundred children in twenty-one classes during their art classes, to make the simple dresses or aprons, not only were the students into it, the parents, the volunteers, as well as member of the senior center believed, that what the school was doing was meaningful, and they’d all gotten involved.
Yesterday, the school called out to the parents and the teachers, to make the word, “LOVE”, then, they’d started, boxing up the seven hundred dresses or aprons fitted for the young elementary school children in Africa up, as they’d started, sealing up the boxes, the students wrote their well-wishes and blessing on the cards, and, some had even placed the dresses alongside the dolls, to give to the children in Africa, hoping, that the children there will feel the love and warmth that came from the kids in Taiwan.
The head of the counseling office, Wu said, that the school’s art teacher had even designed a banner with, “Little Dresses for Africa Kaohsiung Taiwan”, to signify, that the love was, floating over the seas to Africa.
The principal from Lingyuan Elementary School Lin said, that the “Children’s Day” is at the start of April, and the school had, worked with the life and international knowledge instructors, to work to tell the kids about the situation that children in Africa were facing, to let the children here understand, that there were, many children who’d not have enough food, clothes, due to war, drought, and the lack of foods, and, having troubles getting fed, they wouldn’t even begin, imagining what it would be like, having brand new clothes to wear, and after the students learned this, they’d worked, even harder, in making the items.
The fourth grade student, Lin told, that after she learned of how awful the living conditions were in Africa, and felt, that she has so many dolls, she’d found her favorite doll, and tied it to the dress that she was sending overseas, hoped, that the child who received the dress she’d made would like the doll as much as she had, “Giving my favorite to them”, is giving my most genuine blessings.
The fifth grade student, Lee said, that she’d had a ton of new clothes to wear, and after learning that a lot of children in Africa are running around without clothes, she’d felt so awful, hoped that she can continue making the new clothes for them next year, “I shall make an even prettier dress for them next year.”
And this, is the way to education your young children, by letting them know of the less fortunate, having them participate in the giving process, you’re actually, instilling that needed sense of empathy in the younger generations, and, there’s NO way this could’ve been done any better here!
