From the Front Page Sections, translated…
“Principal Mommy, it’s so SCARY! Is our world sick? How can someone just hack someone else at random?”, a child called me up, he’d asked me if I was shocked, seeing the news.
I’d told him, that I was in the middle of a lecture, talking about how my daughter thought the umbilical cord I’d saved for her was yucky! I’d told her, that that, was how I’d transfer the nutrients and the love I had for her to her, and when she was able to face the outside world, the doctor severed the umbilical cord that connected us together off, then, started her own life’s incredible adventures.
“Such a scary world, how can we grow up safe and sound? It’s way too, risky!”, the child was really shocked, kept exclaiming how scary it was.
I’d consoled her, but, I’d let out a heavy breath, although this process of growth is filled with surprise, and although there are obstacles along the way, so long as we’re carrying that stamina, we can still conquer, but, I’d never imagined, that the kids are faced with the shocking, scary, even life-threatening dangers in this adventure.
“I cried, but not just out of fear, out of sorrow as well”, I’d told that child that as I saw the news after I arrive home, it was, midnight, and when I saw and heard the news, I’d started screaming out of shock.
From when I was the head of the disciplinary offices, I’d once screamed at kids who’d gotten into physical fights in school, “You’re NOT just hurting your bodies, you’re also, hurting your mothers’ hearts!” I’d told them of the hardship of carrying a baby for ten months, and how some mothers had even, lost their lives.
“The life that almost got taken is extremely precious, it’s a part of the mother’s heart, do you know that? You not only can’t let yourselves get hurt, you also shouldn’t go and hurt others!”, and, I’d recalled that no matter how angry the child was, upon hearing, s/he would fall silent.
“That bad guy, they should give him the death sentence, mommy, are you for the abolishing of the death penalty?”, my child inquired.
“Baby, at this moment, any person would see him fitting to be executed, but my mind’s on how to prevent the next incident.”, I’d mentioned how the news mentioned the abuse of illegal substances, and this problem, may be a serious one that the government need to tackle.
“Think about how if these illegal substances aren’t destroyed, those weak-minded, seeking the consoles, or those who were enticed, to want the feelings of excitement, they’d already lost their senses of the self, giving to substance abuse, that, was the scary root of it all!” after my child heard me, she’d instinctively stated, “Holy! Isn’t this like how opium had, totally, destroyed the Ch’ing Dynasty? I no longer want to travel into the big cities, it’s so scary.”
I’d recalled how I’d gone up the hills to visit my mother, mom told me, that from before, they’d left the doors to the old-styled mansion opened until when they head to sleep in the nights. But now, because she’s afraid that someone might enter and ask or threaten her for money, and there were, news of locals using drugs, so, she’d bolted up the doors, and even when someone comes knocking, she’d no longer dared to answer, “It’s a bad time, too many bad people around.”, even my mother, who lives up in the mountains was, affected by the bad news in the society.
Dr. Chen from Chenggong University Hospital told me, he felt, that my husband was right, that “education is most important, if you manage to teach a child right right now, then, the police will have one less arrest to make later on”, he’d continued, “and it’d also, prevent one or more families from the losses too”.
Yes, certainly! The education in both the schools as well as the family are VERY important, and the education of the world should NOT be overlooked either, and, if we can all, face up to the problems, trace back to the roots. Then, we will finally able to tell our kids, on your incredible adventures, although there would be perils, but, don’t worry, if you work hard, if you kept going, you shall pass through it all.
I really do hope, that I will get to, tell my child that one day!
But you won’t be able to, because the world IS sick, and, the sickness of this world is still caused by the malfunctioning of ALL those BASIC units of the societies: families, and, it’s because of all these families that started out dysfunctional, that’s caused all the children that came out of them also dysfunctional, and, you already, KNOW, what those DYSFUNCTIONAL children ARE capable of here, and, if the families don’t change, then, how can you expect the world to get better???
