A story that’ll put a smile on people’s face, or, rather, something that offers light in this already, too-darkened world that we live today, from the Newspapers, translated…
The very first fine dining restaurant with handicapped workers “Style of Orange Kitchen” had its grand opening in the city of Hsinbei yesterday, it’d attracted the nearby workers in the industrial park to dine; the forty-three-year-old Downs’ Syndrome man “Lun”, as he’d delivered the food items carefully to the guests, he’d not forgotten to tell the people who were dining there, “Do Enjoy Your Meal!”
The New Love Development Center’s Director, Chang from the building stated, that “Orange Kitchens” is about how the use of heart and faith, hoping to provide a safe and healthy dining environment, currently, the two instructors are preparing the meals, and the six students took the orders, then delivered the meals, and picked up the tables after the guests were done dining, and there was a counselor close by, giving the students hints on how to do what they’re doing well, the students had gone through six months of work-related training sessions, and were all eager to have a first taste of the foods being prepared in the kitchen.
The week before the grand opening, the students had even gone to the nearby industrial regions to pass out the flyers for promotions; and the advising instructor also took the students tot eh nearby super convenience stores to buy things, to teach them to immerse themselves into living in the community. Yesterday, that restaurant started operating formally, the students showed off the results of their hard work, the forty-three-year-old Lun, with Downs’s Syndrome carefully delivered the dishes to the guests, and he’d remembered to tell them, “Do enjoy your meals!”, and, all who came to dine gave him a ton of encouragements.
Yesterday, there were the parents of the job training center who’d come to dine, as well as the Director of the Hsinbei Social Services Department, Chang who’d gone, to show her support for the handicapped individuals. The New Love Development Center’s director, Chang said, “Orange Kitchen” is open during lunch, and all are welcome here, to show their support for these kids.
And so, this, is still a very good program, the kitchen was set up by the foundation, which offered socialization, work training, work experience for individuals with handicaps.
