A man, Huang after learning that his underage son had a hit-and-run accident, he’d feared that there might be a criminal record to his own son’s name, he’d found someone to take the fall for his son. In the end, he’d not only not managed to help his son out, his son was being sued for hit and run, and negligence injuries, his son was taken into custody, and he was also charged with abetting.
The Taoyuan prison systems pointed out, that if a youth was involved in a car accident and didn’t run from the scene, then, the judge is more than likely to hand the youth back to the parents and the youth would’ve gotten away with just a warning. And after the decision of handing the youth into the parents’ custody, the youth would need to report to the juvenile detention halls regularly, and may need to volunteer, and needed to get some education reforms too.
The Taoyuan District Court investigated, that the seventeen-year-old last year late one evening in February, drove a friend past Longnan Road in Taoyuan, he’d had a collision with Yuan, with Yuan suffering minor injuries. Huang then just rode off, and he’d gone home, told his father what he’d done. Huang (age 42), not only didn’t tell his own son to turn himself in, and because his son was still in school, he’d feared criminal charges for him, he’d told his own son to go into hiding.
Huang’s father then rushed to the street entrance, where he saw Lee, along with other he knew, and he’d blurted out, “Who has a license and isn’t intoxicated, my son just hit somebody!” Lee told him that he wasn’t drunk and had his license, and Huang’s father immediately asked Lee to take the fall for what his son did, drove him to the police station to turn him in.
As the police asked the victim of the hit-and-run to come identify the perpetrator, because Lee was bigger in stature compared to Huang’s son, the victim immediately told the officers, “He’s not the one who ran me over!” The police took out the surveillance footage and immediately busted Lee for taking the fall for Huang’s son, and Lee admitted, that Huang’s father feared that his son may have a criminal record, that, was why he was asked to take the fall. And Huang’s father was taken into custody of aiding and abetting.
This still shows how parents have the tendencies to spoil their young, like this man whose son had a hit-and-run, but he’d not wanted his own son to have a criminal record, so he’d asked someone to take the fall for it, but, because the body-built wasn’t the same, that, was why the father’s plan didn’t work and that still just shows, that if you’d done something wrong, just MAN up to it, do NOT try to escape, otherwise, you’ll end up paying for it even more!
