SHOCKING STATS here, isn’t it??? Because you’d think, that in college, you’d learn to do your reports, papers, etc., etc., etc., on your laptop computers, as laptops are the essentials of a college student’s career, is it not? And here we have GRAD students in JAPAN who are so off, they don’t know how to type up their research papers using a laptop, so they’d had to do it on their cells!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
and this, is what THAT looks like…
not my photograph…
In an investigative study, they’d found, that the younger population in Japan ages from the teens to their twenties would only use their SmartPhones to log online, that less and less of this younger generation’s population knew how to use computer to key in information; there was someone on Twitter awhile back that stated, that his classmate couldn’t even “copy and paste” on the laptops, that he’d wanted to write his dissertations on his cell phone.
“The Japanese Economics” reported, that in recent years, the colleges and the corporations had this generation of “Getting Away from the Computers”, the lecturer from the Kanagawa University, Ichiro Yoko said, about three years ago, the students started not knowing how to use the traditional computer keyboards to type, instead, they’d used just one fingers, and some of his students wrote e-mails, without the subject, didn’t sign at the end, “Less and less students are buying the computers, and, their skills are deteriorating by the years.”
The statistical measures done by the Japanese government last year found that sixty-percent of young people under twenty years of age used their SmartPhones most often. The professor from Tokyo University, Yoshiaki Hashimoto found that those who’d only used their cell phones to log online make up thirty-three percent of the population ages 10 to 19, thirty-percent in the 20 to 29 age group, “the younger generations think that the SmartPhones are enough for them.”
not my photo here still…
The rate of Japan, “getting away from the laptops” is moving faster compared to the U.S. and other nations, and the enterprises are also, affected. In the NEC Japan Company, last year, because the new employees keyed too slowly, they’d had typing classes set up for the workers, the NECDATA company believed, that the younger generations are used to using programs such as LINE and Twitter to post the smaller articles, and so, they’d set up this writing class for the younger generations of workers, to help them hone up on their skills in writing. From before, the middle to elderly population couldn’t use the computers, they’d gotten picked on by the enterprises, Hashimoto stated, “maybe in the future, there would be members of the younger generation who couldn’t use computers and gotten discriminated against.”
On the other hand, some of the enterprises in Japan automatically got rid of the desk top computers, for instance, for the pharmaceutical sales agents who had constant calls from the clients changed to the tabloids, and the Japanese Yahoo company had prevented the employers from using their desktops at the office during their workhours for two years, hoping that they can get their workers caught up on the “SmartPhone trends”.
On the Japanese Twitter, some told, that there are those around them using their cell phone to write their theses and dissertations, because they don’t know how to use the cut and paste functions on their regular computers, and didn’t know where the key-change keys are located on the keyboard.
a closer look at both!!!
But some believed, that with a larger screened cell phone, one doesn’t even need a computer or a laptop anymore, “We should change the current systems, to fit the newer kinds of technologies.”
So, this, would BE the ADVERSE effects of the advancements in technology, back when we were going to school (and no, that still wasn’t a HUNDRED years ago either, ‘k???) we’d still needed to turn in HARD-COPIES of our papers, but now, with the advancements in technologies, some of the college professors are doing away with the turned in hardcopies of the students’ work, and everything is done online, which is why this problem in the Japanese college students exist, because as technologies become more and more advanced, we’d become, more and more reliant on them, and in the end, we can’t even, QUIT using the systems, and, call me old-fashioned, but I’d still prefer books with the pages that I can turn, with the words printed down, and I’m still using my laptop here, besides, although those tabloids, iPads or WHATEVER are easy to take with you, but they still don’t have ALL the functions of a laptop, so, just because the technologies are more advanced each and every day, that doesn’t mean, that one of the previously invented technologies should get put into that “outdated” pile!!!
