The thoughts of a migrant worker here on making Taiwan home, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The Social Work Department Professor, Wang yesterday shared on the seminar, that there’s high correlation between the level of happiness and the assimilation into the community of the migrant workers in Taiwan. She’d suggested that the government should put in the human resources as well as the capital, to make the migrant workers even tighter knitted with the community, that way, there would be better life and a stronger sense of bliss.

Migrant workers, gathering for their rights…

The research sampled 187 member of the migrant workers, of them, most were from Indonesia, and they’re located in Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan. The study found, that the migrant workers who’d made higher pays, had higher level of education from Indonesia, are happier.

Wang’s study found, that the sense of happiness that the migrant worker had lies in how assimilated they are, into the community, and that Taiwan should put more capitals, into helping the migrant workers to assimilate into the community more, including having more gatherings for them, and setting up more rest areas for them, so they can feel more connected with the society in Taiwan. She’d suggested that the capital of human resources is necessary, to provide the migrant workers with better language trainings, and skills they needed, for working here, that it’ll help them, assimilate into the society.

a protest by the migrant workers, because they felt that their rights aren’t given to them…

The Assistant Professor of Yangming University, Liang said, the long-term care in Taiwan is facing many issues today, but other than systematize everything, they should also bring out the “care” processes too. Liang said, the society in Taiwan believed, that long-term care is a job for the females, that it’s a sort of unprofessional, low-pay kind of job, that, was why we’d not paid enough heed to the caretakers, that the greater environment should be created, so everybody starts to respect and pay more attention to the caretakers.

And so, this, is the view of how to treat the migrant workers, and, there are many lucky migrant workers, because the families that hired them treated them kind, but there are also those families who’d hired the workers that treated the workers less than human, but, just because these foreigners work for you, that doesn’t give you the right, to mistreat them, as they’re the ones, looking after your parents, and/or children when you’re away at work!
