Here’s a woman’s ALTRUISTIC behavior, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

The E.R. Nurse, Chu on the holidays, drove out with her friends, at the entrance of the freeways, she saw a flatbed truck tipped over, the fire department, the police had not arrived yet, and nobody else was around, she’d immediately gotten out of her own car, climbed onto the flipped over flatbed, and pulled Dong, the driver who’d passed out out of the truck, her “soul of the E.R. nurse” was moving; her friends who were with her took down the photo of her climbing onto the truck and pulling out the driver, posted on Facebook, said that she was “amazing”, a lot of the members of the online community started giving kudos, and left words of praises for her selfless act to save another.

Chu said, that from the scene of the accident, she couldn’t tell the extent of the driver’s injuries, she’d only wanted to try to save his life, but, things didn’t go accordingly, yesterday, she’d learned, that after the fire department had rushed him to the E.R., he’d died, of serious injuries, she’d stated, “how could this happen?”

Chu worked as a nurse for ten years, six years ago, she’d started working at the Hsinhua Branch of the Tainan Hospital operated by the Department of Health Sanitations. She said, two days ago, she’d driven out with her three friends to Kaohsiung, on the way, she saw an eighteen-wheeler turned over, and the paramedics hadn’t arrived yet, she thought, “If I’d not helped, don’t know how long he’s going to be trapped,” and so, she’d quickly, parked the car at the shoulders, then, rushed to the site of the accident.

Chu climbed onto the eighteen-wheeler, from the windows, she saw the driver, Tong, half passed out, as the truck tipped over, he was held down by the safety belt, hung upside down from the ceiling; and because his head was in a lowered position, she’d feared, that it may cause his blood vessels in his brains to rupture.

Chu couldn’t open the door herself, she’d become agitated, gladly, the skilled workers by the hillside came to offer a helping hand, to open up the door. Chu climbed into the truck, supported Tong’s body, Tong was still semi-conscious, kept hollering out in pain, and told her he couldn’t breathe; Chu attempted to stop the bleeding, and attempted to comfort him with her words, about ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived.

Chang, the firefighter saw that Chung bear-hugged onto Dong, that there was, a lot of blood that got on her pants, as she’d told of the level of the injuries of the truck driver to the firefighters, she’d assisted helping loading the driver onto the ambulance. Chang said, that this was the first time he’d seen a passerby who’d stopped and offered to help the injured driver, that two days ago, he’d not told her thanks, but “I’m truly grateful to her”.

As Chu was saving the man, her friend, Wang took the photos from their car. Wang said, that as nurses, they’re trained to save lives, but, seeing how Chu got out on the freeway and worked to save the man, she was still, very moved, and so, she’d posted the photos online, and gave her kudos.

Chu thought of herself as “very nosy”, last year as she went shopping at the malls, she saw a female part-time employee passed out, bumped her head, she’d gone up, to apply pressures and help the student employee stop the bleeding too, and waited by her for the ambulance. In recent years, she’d seen a ton of cases where the nurses and the doctors got sued, for not being able to save lives, she’d lost her passions for her work once, to not get into unnecessary troubles, but her families told her that being a nurse, “your duties are to save the lives”; and, as she’d gone to her E.R. training sessions, she’d met up with a ton of passionate volunteer firefighters, and her passions for saving lives in the E.R. was, reignited.

And so, this woman put her own safety on the backburner, and went in, to the flipped over eighteen-wheeler, to pull the man out, but unfortunately, the driver sustained too much injuries, so he couldn’t be saved, but this woman’s act of putting his life before hers, is still, amazing, and worth commending.
