The leader of a human trafficking ring, Chu was suspected of forging the seal of a local foundation, used the claims to “Cultural Exchange” applied for eighty-two women from China to come here and sold them as hookers, and, he’d even used the reasons of attending the upcoming lantern festivals, for coming over. The Specialist Team from the Immigrations Department in Taoyuan booked Chu and thirteen members of the scam ring, as well as the three women from China on human trafficking charges.
Based off of understanding, a forty-six year old woman came to Taiwan to sell, but because of the way she looked and how old she was, she was made fun of by the johns, and, as the three months’ visits are up, the members of this sex ring threatened her, “we will tell your family what it is that you did here”, forced her to come here again, to sell, and charged her the fees all over again. This woman got deeper in debt, as she was being sold more and more, and when the specialist team found out about the workings of this human trafficking ring, she’d already owed over $200,000N.T. to them.
And, there was a woman from China who’d managed to pay up all the fees before they’d arrived here, but found that they’d not made as much, selling, and wanted to head home for the New Years, but Chu forced them to stay here, and when she’d refused, Chu had gotten physically violent with her, and her exiting papers are all, torn to pieces by him too.
The Specialist Squad on the tenth took the warrant from the District Attorney’s Office in Taipei made their ways into the hotels, the motels to arrest them, there were ladies who were “working” in bed when the police busted through the doors, and the johns didn’t know that the cops were there, to bust this human trafficking ring, and were surprised and exclaimed, “Must you use such force, to rid the society of the sex industries?”
The Specialist Squad investigated and found that in the past six months, this ring used the excuses of cultural exchange, or performances, introduced eighty-two females from China who were willing, to sell themselves for sex here, and had them pay a service fee of $150,000N.T. each to be here, and the ring had also taken a thousand to two thousand dollars in commissions each and every time these ladies sold, and, after the fees were deducted, the ladies couldn’t get more than a couple of hundred dollars at a time.
The Specialist Squad found, that the sex ring was very specialized, members were divided into separate areas of work, some were in charge of finding the excuses for visits, like sightseeing purposes, others were in charge of making the false documentations, and there were those specializing in contacting the johns, and drivers too. And the scam ring had signed on for a TON of other “activities”, including the lantern ceremonies too.
And so, this, is how easily someone can fall victim, because they were promised a higher pay, and, these ladies were apparently too desperate, to make their own lives better, which made them easy targets, and, because these women are willing to sell, and there’s this demand of whores in the world, that, is why this is still happening, and, make no doubt, that this won’t be the last case of sex trade either…
