early in the morning, the teacher is alread out, seeing that the students cross the streets safely here…

There was news of how the school teachers in the city of Taichung may lead the nation in not working as crossing guard instructors after school, making the school principals and the parent groups worried, that the students’ safety may be in danger.
Whether or not the teachers act as cross guards, the writer of this article believed, that it’s due to the miscommunications that happened between the principal, the parents, and the teachers, so long as the teachers have the respects that they deserved, a lot of the instructors wouldn’t mind working afterschool as the crossing guard instructors at all.
Take for the writer of this article for instance, the mandated time for the school teachers to work as crossing guards is a week each semester, and I’d volunteered myself for an extra week. For no other reasons than seeing those innocent, naïve smiles on the kids’ faces!
As I worked as the crossing guard instructor, whether or not the students were in my class, they’d all come over to me and greet me courteously, “Good morning teacher, how are you, teacher” “Wow, you look pretty today, teacher!”, and the fresh morning air is really awakening to me, and, with the kids’ greetings, matched up to their naïve smiles too, I’d felt, that surge of warmth instantly. And so, as I worked as a crossing guard teacher, I’d always carried a positive mood to greet all the students.
another dedicated instructor here…
So long as we give the school teachers more respect, and recognition, instead of seeing how they’re not doing enough, and questioned how much the teachers are putting in, to reduce the conflicts a bit, the teaching profession is still a holy calling.
So, this instructor CHOSE to look at working as a crossing guard positively, unlike many other instructors who probably see it as a chore, as something that they’d had to but not wanted to do, and, it’s also, with this positive mindset that this instructor carried, that the students s/he come in contact with all greeted her/him courteously, because you are reflected in the eyes of everybody you come across!
