A Man Lost an Arm in a Car Crash, His Wounds and Scars, Soothed Over by the Oceans

the model-making skilled working from the Amei Tribe who lives in Keelung, Bing-Yuan Chen, back when he was seventeen, he got into a serious crash, after he was in a coma for seven days, he’d found one of his arms amputated. And, although he’d become handicapped, he’d still used his excellent skills he’d had from before, managed to live off of his own skills, five Years ago, he’d chosen to move from Taipei, to Keelung, which looks out over the oceans, he’d told, “The oceans had, soothed over my heart”, so he’d wanted to be closer to the oceans.

Chen was from the Amei Tribe in Hualien, nicknamed, “Guo Yang”, just like the main character of the swords fight novel, very impressive too, twenty-five years ago, when he was just seventeen, he’d was run over by an eighteen-wheeler as he fell from his motorcycle, the eighteen-wheeler ran through his right arm, his right arm needed to be amputated, and his parents chosen to save his life, and ever since, he’d only had his left arm.

In the past, he’d loved traveling all over the places, and the car wreck which took him near the gates of death, and after his surgeries, he’d decided to head back home to Hualien to think about his own life, started learning to drive with his left hand, to use chopsticks, to put his own clothes on, he’d sat all day long by the oceans, listening to the waves, and after his conversations with the oceans for an entire year, Chen finally got out of the loss of losing his own arm.

For over a decade, he’d worked in Taipei, five years ago, Chen decided to move to Keelung, because it’d had the seas and the mountains like his hometown, and continued cutting, and sawing up wood, used his own abilities to sustain his own livelihood, and now, he’d had a small amount saved up too; his employer told, that Chen had high efficiency, his work, precise, because of this, he’d gotten paid a bit more than the rest of the other workers.

After he’d placed that diving mask on, he’d swum alongside the fishes at the bottom of the seas, keeping ALL the noises out, all he’d heard is the buzzing sound, that, was the way that Chen used, to help himself out of the troughs of his own life; he’d taken his dives every now and then, cleaned up the ships that were docked, to make some extra cash, and now, he’d hoped to get his crewmen certifications, he’d not given up his life, coexisting, relying on the oceans, because of his own physical handicap.

He’d lived on like anybody else would, nothing can faze him, the oceans had, healed him, it’d changed him from being pessimistic to optimistic, and now, Chen’s life is closely linked together with the oceans, never to get away from it again.

And that, is how being in nature can help heal you. This man had suffered a serious injury, and yeah, he was depressed and low about it, but, in the end, he’d decided, that he’d needed to stop grieving for what he’d lost, and he’d found his strength to carry on in the forces of nature, and that, is a story of how being surrounded by nature can heal.
