This just shows how much human touch the Taiwanese societies showed, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

A Finnish man, Tancone came to Taiwan for a tour, but, he’d spent up ALL of the money he brought with him, and started living in the bus stop of the Saint’s Waterfall in Nei-Shuanxi, the residents saw him and notified the police, the Shihlin subprecinct’s Xi-Shan Substation officer gave Tancone a ride back to the station, and asked the other officers to find a placement for him in Muzha’s Care Home for him temporarily. As Tancone left the subprecinct, he’d thanked the officers for giving him the hand, he said, “I’d not imagined that I’d spent all the money so quickly”, he’d also smiled and said, “Finland is way too cold! Taiwan is, much warmer!”

But, as the news of Tancone got out, some of the readers disclosed, “This Finnish man IS a HOBO!”, based off of understanding, three years ago, Tancone had already come to Taiwan, and back then, he’d been extradited back to Finland because his visa expired, this time, he’d come back, and made the buildings close by the Taipei Main Stations his home, and was reported to the police, for getting drunk, and destruction of properties. Before the Chinese New Year’s, he’d had an altercation with another foreigner, and left his place of stay in Taipei Main Station.

Tancone (age 39), claimed that he’d been here six times, and worked in the gardening business in Finland, couldn’t speak Chinese, and he wasn’t fluent in English either, arrived here, on tourism on January 26th. Two evening’s ago, there was a drizzle at seven in Nei-Shuanxi, it was, about 53 degrees Fahrenheit, residents found, that there was, a foreigner, camping out, at the bus stops, they’d reported it to the police.

The officers saw Tancone freezing and hungry, took him back into the subprecinct, the officers made him a bowl of instant noodles, provided hot water for him to shower, Tancone said, that Finland is way too cold, that Taiwan’s temperature was milder, that, was why he’d traveled here, he’d not had any food for two days straight already. Tancone observed that the Taiwanese people are passionate and kind, that although he’d not had a home, but he wasn’t worried a bit, that this bowl of instant noodles tasted especially delicious, and he’d told, that after his return to Finland, he will let others know of the kindness and compassions of the Taiwanese people.

And so, this just shows how there’s still, a lot of kindness toward strangers who became stranded here, and, regardless of this Finnish man’s reasons for being without a home, he’d gotten the assistance he’d needed, to get back home again, thanks to the kindness of the Taiwanese community.
