A woman, Liu, because the four-year-old son that her boyfriend had with his ex “refused to finish his meal”, she’d used the handles of the toilet scrub, and beaten him to death, the social workers were called, and visited the Liu’s household, they’d found that the dead little boy’s five-year-old sister had burn markings on her, the social worker immediately took the child to the medical facilities. The Shihlin D.A.’s office, after interrogating the woman, asked the judge to have Liu taken into custody which was warranted; Liu was out on bail of $60,000N.T., but because he didn’t have it, so, he was sent home.
The Shihlin D.A.’s offices found that the little boy was developmentally delayed, and that there were, over twenty old and new bruises and scars on him, there was a scab on the back of his head, and there were new lacerations on both sides of his forehead, as well as his chin too, the little boy was extremely thin, with his ribs showing, seemed to have been malnourished, it was such an awful sight to see; there were, eighteen-percent of second degree burns on the young girl, and the areas were located on the right forearm, as well as on her abdomen, she’s already in the hospitals for treatment, as for the causes of these burns, the hospitals need to examine her closely first.
Liu claimed, that after his girlfriend, Liu beaten up his son, she’d run outside and started hollering, “the child had stopped breathing”; he’d told, “I’d not hit my own child, my girlfriend had gone overboard with disciplining.” Liu admitted that at the end of last year, she’d started, “physically disciplining”, two days ago, because the young boy wouldn’t finish his meals, and ignored her nagging, she’d needed to take care of four kids, she’d become, too stressed out and too tired. The birthmother of the children, Lin learned that her son and daughter were abused, she’d said, very upset, “I will, sue them both!”
The officers investigated, after the 34-year-old Liu was divorced from his wife, he’d met Lin (age 25), and Liu (age 29), the three women in his life had a total of five children for him, the eldest son was placed in his ex-wife’s custody, the siblings who were abused were from Lin, Liu gave him two sons, one and three, the four kids lived with Liu and Liu, at a steel-roofed shack at Yangming Mountain, the neighbors that lived nearest to them are over two hundred meters away, the neighbors and locals rarely interacted with the family.
Two afternoons at around four, Liu took his comatose son to the emergency room of Yangming Hospital, the paramedics saw that the child had stopped breathing, they’d emergently resuscitated him, but to no avail. The hospital staff found there to be multiple old and new wounds on the child, and suspected abuse, they’d immediately notified the Shihlin Police Subprecinct and the Social Services. The social workers made their ways to the child’s residence, and found that there were, a little girl and two young boys there, and the little girl had burn markings on her, she was immediately rushed to the VMH for treatment.
The landlord pointed out, that Liu had started renting the place from him just a month ago, at $15,000 a month, she knew that Liu had children, but couldn’t tell that there was, something wrong with them, and he’d paid the rents on time too. the landlady said, that the last time she’d gotten into contact with them was after the earthquake before New Year’s Eve, Liu called him and let him know, that there were two holes made from the earthquakes, but she was doubtful, “how could there only be just two holes from the damages of an earthquake?”
Once again, everybody missed ALL the signs, which was why, we now have the body of a young child, and a child who was, seriously abused to injuries here, and, the social worker only visited AFTER someone who’s not a part of the family reported that something MAY be wrong! What does that tell you about the system? And how things worked? That everything is waited, until beyond repair!!!
