The major earthquake in southern Taiwan happened over the span of the New Year’s vacation, right at the time when families gathered for celebration, this event seemed to serve as a warning to me, that I needed to, cherish spending time with the family; as we’re gathering for the New Year’s Eve meals, to savor each exchange we have with members of our families, and, to share those words of care and concerns.  Traveling together, enjoying the beautiful sceneries, and leave behind some wonderful memories too………All of these small blessings are more than precious to me!

As an educator, I’d seen how a lot of those who were hit in the earthquake are of the same age as my students, at such a young age, they’re faced with the hardships of the demands of the adulthood years, I feel so bad for them all, at the same time, I’d started thinking about how I am going to be enlightening my own students as the school start, sharing with them the values of taking advantage of the time they have with their families, to be grateful, and to repay the love from their parents, and because only by passing these values down, will they learn, to cherish the moments they have with each other, so they can behold their own happiness.  In the end, I want to pray for Tainan!

And so, this would be the lesson learned from this earthquake, it’d taught us, to cherish the time we have with families, to speak the love we feel for one another now, instead of keeping it for later, because, there may NOT be a later!
