A Man from Hong Kong Strangled His Girlfriend to Death, Because She Was Still On & Off with Her Ex

Flew into a jealous rage here now, did we???  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A man from Hong Kong, Cheng came to Taiwan to spend the New Year’s Holidays with his girlfriend, Wang in Taoyuan, but he was suspected of being jealous of Wang being still in contact with her ex-boyfriend that on the tenth, he was suspected of strangling Wang to death, and, as he headed out, he’d bumped into Wang’s ex-boyfriend, he’d told him, “She wanted to break up with me”, then, left in a hurry.  Two nights ago, the police arrested Cheng, and after interrogating him yesterday, they’d booked him on murder charges.

The police investigated, that Cheng (age 38), through a cell phone game last yet met Wang who was eight years his junior, they’d hit it off, and started dating for a little over six months, this was the fourth time that Cheng had flown here to visit with Wang, on the fourth, he’d arrived here, to spend the holidays with her.

During the New Year’s vacation, Cheng found that his girlfriend was still very close with her ex, Chang, they’d started arguing over this matter.  On the 9^th, (Second of the New Year), Wang went out with her ex, Chang to supper, Cheng flew into a jealous rage, and started drinking at Wang’s place.  As Wang went home on the tenth, they’d gotten into a fierce argument, Cheng was outraged, and strangled Wang to death with a shirt.

On the afternoon of the 16^th, Chang went to Wang’s place, wanted to take her home to his place in Hsinbei City, but, Cheng had answered the door, with only a small crack, told him, “She’s tired out and is sleeping, come back later”, then, he’d shut the door.

Chang left, but as he’d felt that something was off and returned, he saw Cheng leaving with a suitcase.  Cheng told him, “She’s breaking up with me”, then, left in a hurry.  The ex used his spare key and opened the door, saw Wang lying on the bed, already dead.  The police tracked the surveillance video footages on the road, and found that Cheng may be involved, and, two nights ago, they’d caught up with him at a business motel in Taoyuan.

Cheng claimed, that at seven in the morning on the tenth, he’d packed his bag, readied to leave, and, gotten into a verbal altercation with Wang again.  In the process of fighting, he’d pushed Wang toward the bed, then, picked up a shirt, strangled Wang, and after he saw she’d stopped struggling, he’d let go.  He’d not realized that he’d killed Wang, and fell asleep next to her body, and as he woke in the afternoon, he saw her body was already cold, and he’d started fearing, and that, was why he’d flagged down a cab and ran to hid out at a business motel.

And so, jealous is still the CULPRIT of this murder, and, this man felt cheated, because he’d invested so much in the relationship, and he’d gotten only a break up at the end, and that, was what drove him to murder, and perhaps, the fact that the woman was still very close to her ex too, and that just shows, how when people ARE too immature in love, it can end in murder!
